Great drive! If you're ever back in Manila, I'd recommend driving on the Skyway. Its the world's third longest elevated expressway after Tokyo's Shuto and Bangkok's Bang Na. The Skyway cuts through the entire Metro Manila area from north to south and connects to the North and South Luzon expressways. Stunning views of the city in the evening when all the lights and giant LED screens switch on, and no frustrating traffic. Safe travels!

I am living in Taiwan and this is my first time to see Manila's driving view. It was amazing to me that the road design and transportation planning are much better than Taiwan's. The number of motorcycles are also more than cars in Taiwan, but our government and traffic policy are regularly Ignoring Motorcycle Road Rights. If we want to make a left turn at a major intersection on a motorcycle, we have to ride to the lane perpendicular to our direction first and proceed straight before completing the desired route. Motorcycles are not allowed to make a direct left turn. The so-called "two-stage left turn." This is indeed a form of vehicle discrimination, and unfortunately, there seems to be little concern about this issue. But when I saw the traffic planning in the Philippines, it moved me. I really hope Taiwan can have road designs like theirs, unlike the terribly ineffective government and policies we have here. Thank you for your amazing driving video!!!

aside from the motorcycle rules, I do think Taiwan has a nicer transportation infrastracture. Every road i've driven there has been perfect, even in the provinces. Manila's roads are very bad (only a few nice ones). Not to mention, the traffic! It's insane especially on the rush hour. I've experienced Taipei's rush hour traffic too but it's tolerable (organized). I have no idea about the other terrible policies you are pertaining which I believe are valid complaints. OH another thing I was surprised in Taiwan is that there's no toll gates! your sensors are overhead and can read tags at normal expressway speeds PLUS it's so cheap! PH's express ways/freeways have slow toll gates and expensive toll fees.

Right. The slums have been significantly reduced due to the construction of new highways, bridges, trains, malls, condominiums and business districts. But there’s still a long way to go for the Philippines. If you recall, MRT Quezon Avenue station and its vicinity used to be a huge slum years ago. The squatters were relocated and the area is now full of BPO high rise towers, residential condominiums, malls, etc.

That's because people like you rely on stereotypes rather than actual facts. First of all, Southeast Asia wasn't just populated by "jungle barbarians" as Western media would have you believe. Civilizations have existed here long before Western colonialism. Even Spanish accounts mentioned cities like Manila having fortifications and locally made cannons/(Lantakas) and as well as locally made gunpowder. Secondly, Manila was one of the most developed cities in Asia prior to World-War-II, however the city was completely flattened during the Japanese occupation, There are lots of photos and documentaries of Manila before and after the war. Lastly, aside from the BGC area, most of the places in the video have existed since the 80's, 90's and early 2000's... A lot of those buildings aren't new.

Those traffic lights and crosswalk Signals are much similar to the US. So the Philippines are much like the United States just like Australia and New Zealand.

Because it is an American colony before. Philippine culture is mixed with Spanish + American + Chinese + Japanese. The country speaks English and the Philippine government system is basically the same with the United States (President, Vice President, Senators, Congress, Supreme Court etc.)

Hi, how are you? Great work you do, I travel to the great cities of the world through your videos. As a suggestion, it would be nice to include the complete map of the route covered and not just the starting point. Congratulations and success!

Where are you from? Indonesia or Malaysia? I think Hanoi and Phnom Penh focused on Asian architecture while Philippine architecture focused more on European and American architecture
