NTT's Tamal Saha and Rony Santra have returned to Manipur and were on their way to Churachandpur on Thursday morning. But they were caught in middle of massive gunbattle at Tera Khongshangbi in Bishnupur district, kilometers ahead of the border where Bishnupur ends and thereafter begins Churachandpur district. The firing lasted for more than 5 hours since team NTT was caught in the crossfire. Locals allege that firing ensued as early as 4am on Friday morning. Women and children had to run for their lives, all cry for peace in the state. Massive deployment of forces happened later in the day to arrest the situation. Sounds of explosion were heard and drone cameras were also spotted. Its been close to 3 months since the violence started on May 3, claiming more than 150 lives, around 70,000 displaced and has left Manipur divided. Firing and gunbattle continues unabated, 86 days and counting.
