A basket is by far the best was to carry stuff on a bike. I usually put a couple cargonets on mine that just stay with them all the time. With that setup youre always ready to carry almost anything.

STX brake pads I just noticed on my bike has the front and rear.. and they aren't on the corresponding front or rear. OEM 96 Rocky Mountain. I don't think I want to correct it. I just fitted a rear rack last night and switched to a more winter suitable Michelin Country & Rock 26x1.75.

I like how they give you better options for mounting the lower part with the two hole bracket at the end. Most of the front racks/baskets I have used only have the bigger hole for nutted axles.

I love the Charge Spoon, 2 of the 3 bikes have spoons. But to be honest there isn't much to say about a well-priced Saddle that has plenty of style options

Damn you! I didn’t have to install a heavy and expensive Pelago rack. They are an excellent rack for classic mountain bike forks if you get a chance to review!

I should have asked this on the original build video. How well do the front canti brakes work? I've always subscribed to the 90 degree method of the straddle cable but as is the case with this build it wouldn't work. I'm always open to new ideas since I'm just a 'backyard mechanic'.
@alexsch9956

Drill a hole in the mounting bracket, add a brake adjusting screw, run full length cable housing to the bracket, install the canti triangle underneath it if high enough. With this mounting bracket maybe not possible because of the ~45° angle
@marijntbh
11 ай бұрын
The bigger the angle is the more braking power in the brakes so for example 120° would give more stoppingpower then 90° wich is also why on a lot of canti brakes the part where the cable mounts pokes out quitte a bit to the side wich naturally increases the angle
@Bikeops2021

Did you have to get a longer straddle cable for the front canties?
@2NDLIFEBIKES

I did. Completely forgot to mention that. Usually I’d drill the bracket but as it was very nice and new couldn’t bring myself to it haha

is it not bad for handling/steering if there is a heavy load in front....i thought rear racks/panniers/baskets are better...and front tray is just becoming a fad...im not an expert, its just my thought 😁
@kenlang6672

Well I gotta say...The basket itself seems to be a more robust/heavier gauge than Wald. The mounting system seems a bit simpler, more straight forward. Wald hasn't changed since the Jurassic because they just plain work. Even so, it might be time to step up. This is competition.
