I love the colours and multi layered trims. I was lucky enough to live in Yarmouth in one of these homes in the late 50s and 60s. It could use Michael's magic these days.

Yarmouth and Lunenburg are my favourite places to look at houses :) Old houses are an obsession of mine, and I especially love when they go up for sale because it’s our chance to see the inside :) I’m from the Valley, so we don’t have as many, but there’s still some beautiful homes!

The Huntington house (seniors home) did belong to the Allen family. My Dad grew up there. Love having the opportunity to visit Yarmouth through your eyes. Longing for the day that Covid slinks away so I can come home.

Yarmouth, Nova Scotia is a must-see for old house enthusiasts. The first two heritage homes (00:01) reopened as tourist accommodations (Yarmouth Tower House and The Golden Bamboo B&B). Worth staying over to explore inside. 😁

This is a fantastic video. Would you happen to know if there are any photos of the Bowman Corning home on 51 Vancouver St. I have only found one with Mr. Corning standing in front of the property just after it was built. Since parts of the house have been removed I wanted to see what it may have looked like through out the years. It is very sad to see it's current condition I must say.

I had no idea Capt Bowman Corning owned that house on Vancouver St. I know he built my old house on 106 Brunswick St in 1872 which is in the video. I grew up in that house from 1990-2003. There is a painting of him in the Museum.

These are lovely houses, however these are not Yarmouth’s mansions. These homes were built for the upper middle class. The real mansions/estates are all gone except for one on Vancouver street. Some examples, Fir Banks on Vancouver street, Brookside on parade street.
