Quick and to the point. Wanted to know the differences and that’s what I got lol. Nice.

I've got an X10 in transit, according to the order status page. The one thing I wasn't able to find/figure out from the web page(s) is this: While I'm a fan of the AR platform, and the beasty should work fine on the ones I have (with a pic-rail, or easily able to put a chunk of rail on the ones that don't have one already, of course), I'm old-school when it comes to my sidearm - I own and carry revolvers - Not just revolvers, but "revolvers of a certain age", as an older lady might describe herself - an S&W Model 19 whose numbers say it was born around 1962, or an S&W Model 15 whose numbers indicate a 1959 birthday - "classics", in other words - and have never heard so much as a hint of them having a rail, either from the factory, or aftermarket. So how (if at all) does one go about attaching the X10 unit to those? (Barring something utterly blasphemous like drilling screw-holes into the grip and attaching a piece of rail - Let's grab a drill and mutilate our vintage irons for the sake of being able to attach a gizmo... Not gonna happen to mine...) Thoughts?

We recently released the BR4 Bore Rail adapter (MT-2066). This new adapter is likely to be the best solution in all cases where Dry Practice is desired. This solution does not support live fire. If your revolver barrel is long enough, possible solutions include the BR7 (MT-2062), Universal Single (MT-3002), Universal Double (MT-3003), and Competition Rifle (MT-2017). None of these adapters are designed specifically for revolvers, but in some cases, they can be an effective solution. We have a wide variety of adapters available here: mantisx.com/collections/rail-adapters If you have any other questions, please email us at Support@MantisX.com and we will be happy to assist you.

It says here that the X2 is for dry fire only. Is that because it doesn't have the accelerometers necessary for analysis, or is the X2 too fragile to be on the weapon when fired?

Anyone ever use this in conjunction with some of the laser dry fire systems out there?

Mantis X can be used with Mantis Laser Academy. The two are not currently integrated, but you can certainly use them at the same time if your phone/tablet allows this. Otherwise, you may need two phones/tablets to run both apps simultaneously.

Is there any difference in the hardware received in each kit? Sounds as if the only difference is software.
@MantisX

Yes. Though there are some commonalities in the hardware, there are differences between them that enable more functionality.

Not sure if this is still followed. Nice video. Since I have no holster and only dry fire is there any reason for me not to just get the x2. Not sure with dry fire I really need recoil info. Looking at this with the Laser Academy which I am using now.

@@MantisX Thank You, won't have any holster. Or, live fire. So, guess I will look at x2. Are there any known bluetooth, connectivity issues with lates bluetooth iPhones? Thanks again for your information.

The holster draw only works if you have a holster that first the mantis. And if you're using a holster that fits the Mantis, it's probably not your normal holster so the results are sorts useless, no?

We have adapters that mount on the base of the magazine so you can use with your existing holster.

So the hardware is the same, the app is the same, but you are charging a crap load more for app features? Allow me to fix your business model because your clearly are too deep into the gun world: Sell only one thing, the hardware, and then offer different subscription options for the service provided by the app. There I fixed it. You will even make more money and those into electronics and apps won't feel scammed (or motivated to hack your app and make an x10 out of an x2, which I bet I can do).
