Manuel De Landa, philosopher and science writer, is known for his work on nonlinear dynamics, theories of self-organization, artificial life and intelligence, chaos theory, architecture, and history of science. He began his career as an independent filmmaker, and went on to become a computer programmer and artist before emerging as one of the leading theorists of the electronic age.
