Nothing compares to Manuka honey when it comes to face wash- and so many other things. Manuka honey is known for its chemical compound called methylglyoxal, which is derived from DHA from the Manuka flowers from the Leptospermum scoparium species- this species is native to New Zealand and that’s why it makes it so unique as opposed to other honeys because of its extremely potent antibacterial anti-inflammatory antifungal and antiseptic properties. Not only is it used for bacterial infections like MRSA and for burns and wounds, but it’s also used for gastrointestinal disorders and gastric, ulcers and acid reflux. There’s so much science backing up the natural medicinal plant powers of Manuka honey but there is also so much about it that is unknown- specifically why it is so powerful and healing and that leaves it a wonder to scientists and researchers alike. If you haven’t tried this as a face wash, you are in for a treat. If anyone is wondering, which one I use specifically it is in my profile link.
