Getting shut out, against a basement level team, in your season opener, is not a good overall game. Stolarz had better be PISSED at his team for that performance, when he held them on his shoulders for 60 minutes.

@@flackjacket3dits Meh, hes kinda spent his whole career on teams that already have established number ones (Mason, Gibson, Bob). Hes a career .915 goalie, hes a good goalie. Always kinda has been. Whether or not he can handle playing 40 games or more is the question and this Leafs team is really the first chance he will get to actually become a starter, whether or not he can handle it will be up to him, because he was never going to get the opportunity in Philly, Anaheim or Florida. Not to mention the fact that, 31 for a goalie is still prime. Goalies develop slower, and peak later they tend to age way better than players do, and can remain elite well into their 30s.

Terrible, shots on goal were weak, played the perimeter again, stars forgot how to drive the net, Nylander I guess your not in a contract year, playing on the outside isn"t going to cut it and Marne's loopy play is same old, Robertson looked like Marner in the playoff falling on every check and giveaways, where was JT and both Max's were terrible. Knies is a 3rd line guy and if hear the media anymore about paying this guy 6M I'm going to throw up. Give us a break and show up for the first 10 minutes. Oh yes and Woll 3.8M to not play. Same Old Crap but now its dump and chase, How's that working for you coach. Montreal is in a rebuild and who knows who these kids are. You all are an embarrassment to the Blue and White. And hear they are talking about how they played a good game and just need slight improvements. You just played one of the worst teams in the league. Imposters! I almost forgot, Mind Blowing Power Play.

Very sloppy through a lot of the game. Despite having 47 shots, not a lot of them were good scoring chances. Stolarz was great and the boys did get better as it went on. Let's get our first win (and goal) tomorrow

48 SOG, 4 posts & 1 crossbar. 72 shot attempts. You do that in a game & you win 80% of them. St. Louis admitted the ice tilted heavily to Toronto in the 2nd & 3rd, so say what you want. Had that been Toronto doing what the Habs did tonight, most Leaf fans would have said the Leafs got really lucky winning 1-0. No worries. Too many needless penalties.

Stolarz exactly as advertised. Good chance he is the number one guy by April. Tanev also as advertised. I think shat attempts were 72 for Toronto, with 4 posts & 1 crossbar, together with 48 SOG. The fact anybody can watch him and Nylander's full play and actually believe that Nylander is the better player, is obviously not really paying attention. The last time the Leafs were shut out was November 20, 2021. That's the longest streak in the NHL by a lot. Leafs were due for this. Let's just hope it's another 200+ games until it happens again.
