Peter Goché
August 1, 2024 at Alley Poyner Macchietto Architecture in Omaha, NE.
Peter Goché is an Ames, IA-based practicing architect, artist and educator and founder of Goché inclusions (limited architectural practice established in 1999) and Black Contemporary (a type of atelier whereby expert architects, artists, curators, theorists and philosophers in the field of spatial phenomenology are invited to participate in the examination of ongoing research assemblies and present their work to the agrarian public through on-site workshops and field talks). Using site-adjusted installations as primary mode of practice, Goché deploys an integrated approach to both theoretical and practical questions pertaining to the nature and impact of materiality specific to the re-occupation of post-industrial spaces. His research on material practices has been published in a number of edited books and journals, including Architecture as a Performing Art and Architecture and Culture. He has co-lead workshops at the 2014 and 2018 Venice Biennale.
