Remapping HOTAS buttons in SC - that's a separate game loop of its own, which they force you to go through every week or two as they only record by device order...

You can bind keycombos to each button, making the joystick act like a keyboard (except for the axis inputs) saving loads of time

I never thought of using my other monitors as a button map! I’ve had the Warthog since they released it and SC since 2014. This’ll be my first time finally using it for SC thanks to you!

It's a year later and 3.23.1a is out and I'm brand new to the game. I also have a Warthog and X52 Pro as well as Thrustmaster MFD's. One problem I can see with ths game is there are just too many options, rediculously too many options. They could learn a thing or two from War Thunder, which has a very simple way to set up your throttle. Personally, I dont want a bi-directional throttle -it's more trouble than it's worth. I would rather have a switch (for which there is currently no option) to determine if I go forward or in reverse. The Flaps switch on the Warthog Throttle would be perfect. Push it forward and you go forward (which would be raise flaps in WT, button 22, I believe.) If I wish to move in reverse, pull the Flaps button back to button 23, or on the back of the left throttle (pinky switch) there's a button, or, on the back of the right throttle theres the Hat switch which I have assigned to strafe up/down/left/right, but it has a press, too, which could toggle forward/reverse. The way it is now is just garbage, and anyone coming from games like DCS would probably say the current setup is garbage. While there are just too many options, they don't have the correct options IMO.

Use the brake lever behind the stick as ALT modifier so you can put dual modifiers to your buttons.

I am actually curious on how you find the Hotas for SC since everyone keeps telling me to get HOSAS instead. My only question is that if you can replace the 4 directions (up, down, left and right) on a tiny joystick on the Throttle, then how do you do Backward Thrusters since the throttle is used to go forward from 0 to max?
@DaPoets
2 ай бұрын
You can set where you want the throttle to be for forward and backward or you can just use a switch toggle for Forward and backward. I prefer h o t a s, I switch between both, it's just personal preference. I suggest you try both and go with what you like

How are you able to map the buttons with the TPR pedals? or do you have the Thrustmaster TPR pedals? I cannot get my joystick and throttle to map in Star citizen. I have also tried using TARGET with no success
@DaPoets

I don't use pedals and you should not need to use the Thrustmaster software. I have every button and switch mapped only using the Star Citizen advanced controls so I'm not sure where you are having issues...

would you reccommend the Warthog for a begginner (money is not a constraint,) to using HOTAS (have never used HOTAS before) but really want the added immersion, planning on buying a bunch of games to use the HOTAS with, how easy is all the setup and config/how difficult is it to use? would really appreciate a response since you seem like a good source for an opinion since you use the HOTAS for what i want to use it for. Thanks in advance :)

For someone begging no as you may like HOSAS more than HOTAS for space sims. For flight sims the Warthog is an easy choice or the Logitech X52 Pro / X56

Star Citizen is a Space Simulator game, which happens to have some FPS combat and you use keyboard and mouse when and if it happens.
