As for "Qa`htan" in the Prophet’s era, it is divided into two parts:
"Kahalan"
And "`Himyar"
Considering that "Qudha`ah" is part of "`Himyar"
"Qudha`ah" was once an ally of "Ma`ad"
because of that, some would think that it was part of "Ma`ad"
As for "Kahalan", it is divided into:
"Malik"
and "`Areeb"
As for the "Malik" tribes, among them is "Al-Azd"
and "Al-Azd" is divided into five independent entities
and they were originally a single entity in "Ma’rib"
Where the two gardens mentioned in the Qur’an were located
Then the dam broke and the two gardens sank
So they moved and separated
As for the "Al-Aws" and "Al-Khazraj"
they marched until they came to "Yathrib"
and it is said to them, "Ibnay Qailah"
"Al-Nu`man bin Bashir" said:
( Nobles of the sons of "Qailah" ..)
whoever mixes with them would not find anything to complain about
And these are the "Al-Ansar"
As for "Khuza’ah", its journey ended on the outskirts of Makkah.
from there it expanded in "Tihamah"
* We mentioned this in the third module of this series *
"Shanu’ah" and "Al-’Hijr" and others have settled on "As-Sarah"
so these are called "Azd As-Sarah"
* "As-Sarah" is a mountain chain stretching longitudinally between Yemen and Makkah *
Another group of "Al-Azd" happened to pass by a well called "Ghassan"
located at the bottom of "Rim’" valley in Yemen
When they drank from that well, they were named after it.
Finally, their journey ended with their arrival in "Al-Golan" in Syria.
"Hassan bin Thabit" used to visit them in the pre-Islamic period and recite poetry to them
so what he said was:
( Neither we are in "Reem", nor "’Hamt", nor "Sawara" )
*"Reem", "’Hamt", and "Sawara" are dry valleys in Hijaz south of Madinah
( but we are in a planted meadow in the "Golan" )
(Every day they bring us a bowl *of wine and a female singer )
( While there is nothing in the "’Hijaz" but hunger and misery )
This was in the pre-Islamic era
Another group settled in ’Oman, so they were called "Azd ’Oman"
These are the "Azd" in the Prophet's era.
