Hello, I have tried to use one of the links to open my map in qgis but I get this error "This map's JSON is for Vector Tile. Vector Tile feature is not available on this QGIS version.", could you help me?

What qgis version are you using? It sounds like you might need to upgrade or search for this error message in maptiler's documentation

Why not use the free qTiles plugin for raster tiles and host your own slippy maps ?

Excellent suggestion Lee! I'll look into it. Thanks for watching :-)

Interesting video... made me think about something: Let's say i use Atlas to generate various maps as GeoTiff/Jpeg. Let's say i want to convert them into MBtiles. Is there a way to do this? Doing it in batches would be great.

Hi Etrigan. Thanks for posting. Yes! This is a really common workflow and particularly useful for creating basemaps for mobile data collection tools. You can make mbtiles all sorts of ways but QGIS has built in processing tools to make both raster and vector tiles. Just search the processing toolbox for mbtiles ;)

@@burdGIS Hello good sir, thanks for the reply. i have come into a wall using Qgis & it's related to batch processing in general. Let's say that for "Generate XYZ MBtiles" tool i want to feed it with extents of each feature inside a layer. don't know how to pass the extents directly within the tool or by using the tool in a model. With Arcmap i had the "get value" & "iterate by groups" operators, in Qgis i haven't see them. Researching i have noticed there's an expression builder in the batch processing windows, i'll see if an agregate collect can do the trick. i think this is something very important that is not frequently covered in the Qgis documentation or tutorials.

UPDATE: Not going for the low hanging fruit so i kept trying >:D Came up with an inelegant solution. 1)Basically set a model with only a layer input & "Generate XYZ Tiles" tool. The idea is to use the batch processing pipeline of the Model. To feed the model, i 1st split the vector layer by each feature extent coming up with 1 file per feature dumped into a directory. So this directory is passed to the XYZ tool as the extent input while runing the model in batch mode. This more or less work but it's quite unestable. Btw, im surprised there's no a compressive batch autofill expression tutorial anywhere that i searched.

Great to hear about your work Etrigan. It sounds like a good candidate for a new video. Please could you email me with an outline of what you're doing and a sample of your data if possible? Contact details can be found here burdgis.com/contact

@@burdGIS This computer is too old to run any GIS programs, so i don't have the means to share much. A missed opportunity since with a quick glance im sure you would've come with something miles better. However, it is so basic i will write a better explanation either in here or in the contact link through out the weekend. i gave continuation to this because sometimes one is looking for a solution online & even the slightest little hint in a comment can shed some light. Again, thank you and i'll follow up in more detail later.

Thanks Bryan. It looks like this problem has been encountered by others (gis.stackexchange.com/questions/378776/maptiler-labels-plotting-too-small-in-qgis). Are you able to share your data?

@@burdGIS You are a gentleman my friend... I've spend 20+ hours trying to solve this issue. Thanks for the lead. I had to alter the directions a bit: 1. Press F7 2. Select 'Labels' 3. Change size from 'Point' to 'Pixels'. When I open Layout Manager and export the image, I now get full scaled text when printing which matches the layout. Thanks for the assist!

@@burdGIS but your basemaps will vanish without warning each month (depending on your volume of use -- or something; it's pretty opaque) if you don't cough up the $25 for a non-free account

Really? I didn't know about this! I'm sure basemaps I was working on are still there.
