You can easily reset protection mode by simply unplugging the power cord for 30 seconds or so and then reconnecting the power cord. No need to remove the cover. Problem is that protection mode will re-occur after some period of time. Things you can do on your own … Observe whether the fan is working. If it’s not working then the amp is over-heating. Check your speaker cables to ensure they are secure and that you have no stray speaker wire strands touching the chassis or other speaker terminals. Use banana plugs for speaker connections to avoid possible short circuits. If you know how to use a voltmeter and have one handy, disconnect all input cables and speaker cables then with amp powered-on check the voltage across each set of speaker terminals. It should be at or near zero. If it isn’t then get a Marantz service center to check your output transistor bias voltage for each channel. If the above doesn’t reveal the problem then you’ll need a serious technician to diagnose and repair your amp. The above applies to Marantz MM7055 and MM7025 amps.

Very insightful. Pulling out the power plug was the very first thing I tried. That didn’t work. I bought expensive wiring and that didn’t work either. As for special tools for testing, like I said in my video “ I am no expert “ just a guy who likes to tinker. I went online like everyone does. I called Marantz and stereo Technician. Their advice was to purchase another. After that video I haven’t had to mess with the 7025 again. It could have been the fan or something else. Over all just happy I didn’t have to buy or get charged $$$$ to get it fixed or replaced.

There’s actually 2 more connections near the speaker terminals. Try unplugging those too.

I've had a brand new Marantz amp for about a month and it barely stays on. I live in a place where the ambient temperature is rarely over 68 degrees. These products are fucking dog shit.
