Really satisfied with mine, I´ve had it for 2 weeks and I am blown away. The Dirac Live and Bass Management is absolutely worth the upgrade. I have one configuration for music listening and one for watching movies. After tuning it for my livingroom it sounds amazing! Highly recommend it!

Good Morten, we're glad you are enjoying it. It's always been a struggle, the entire home theater era, to get both your music and movies sounding their best. Marantz Cinema 30 really helps with that. On top of that, as you say - you can make it sound great in your own environment. Sweet!

Could you please compare its analog stereo sound quality (in “pure direct” mode without ANY processing) with that of the outgoing SR8015? For many music-lovers that’s the most important consideration!
@GramophoneMD
5 ай бұрын
Hello Bombay, we'd like to - but we don't have any more 8015 on display to do so! But it is for sure at least as good, given the way Marantz laid out the amplifier section. Thanks for asking

@@GramophoneMDThank you for your reply. The SR8015 is still available here, considerably cheaper than the Cinema 30, so I think I will go with the older model.

On a German forum two users are posting that there is no significant sound difference between the C30 and C40. Could you compare them ?
@GramophoneMD
5 ай бұрын
HI Francois, some differences that seem quite apparent to one listener are much less significant to another. As we see it, the big differences are a) 11 channels on board vs. 9 in Cinema 40, with the option of 13 discrete channels if you add another amp. Extra channels can make a big difference in home theater listening, and b) more power in Cinema 30, which depending on volume level, the size of your room, and how demanding your speaker load, may or may not seem significant

If you run 7.1 side by side, I'm guessing you'll hardly hear any audible difference.

Have you ever tested DENON AVC-X8500HA ? And this MARANTZ Cinema 300 is better than DENON X8500HA ?
@GramophoneMD
25 күн бұрын
Hello F, we haven't reviewed AVR-X8500HA, but we are Denon dealers and it is an outstanding product, Denon's flagship. Cinema 30 has some things that may or may not be important to you vs AVR-X8500HA, namely Dirac Live and 4 independently adjustable sub outs. Both can be very helpful, esp. in challenging rooms

Is it worth jumping from denon x2700h, does it make more sense for movies or vinyls too?

Hello Mr., while this is a multi-channel home theater receiver, our thought is that you will really like it on 2 channel as well - it's a great sounding receiver, the best they have ever done. But if you are primarily a 2 channel listener, you''ll want to evaluate whether that money is better spent on other elements in your system - for example, upgrading to better speakers or adding a second subwoofer. Feel free to reach out to us to discuss further: ask@gramophone.com

What's the equivalent pre-processor of this receiver.
@GramophoneMD
10 күн бұрын
Hi Tony, there is no exact equivalent, but the closest pre pro would be the AV 7706. You can read more about it here: skybygramophone.com/collections/marantz/products/marantz-av7706-surround-pre-amplifier-11-2-channel-advanced-8k-upscaling-imax-enhanced-auro-3d-amazon-alexa. @@GramophoneMD Thanks the 7706 is a lot cheaper than the cinema 30 though usually it's the other way around. Pre-processors usually cost more but thanks for your advise I will check it out.

@@olasumbo2663 Yes, thanks - AV 10 is great, a terrific sounding product, but it is quite a bit more costly than the Cinema 30. Hence our response about "there is no exact equivalent" . We should have discussed both AV 10 and AV 7706. Thanks!

SR-8015 same power & processing power, much better deal. Only advantage is Dirac.

Hi Robo, yes, as with so many consumer products, a new SR 8015 at closeout price is a great receiver deal. But there are many nice upgrades in Cinema 30; more processing power; four independently adjustable sub-outs, along with Dirac support; 13 channels of processing for adding a big power amp for the front channels; all HDMI supporting 8k, etc
@Jason-me1bs

I had a refurbished SR8015 for £1460 but the original box had been lost. Unfortunately when it arrived the whole front had been completely smashed in and as it’s an outgoing item there were no other ones available from the shop. Instead they gave a great deal on a cinema 40. It looks much nicer but is also 8k across the board. The processing is an improvement over the SR and it does sound awesome. It’s bit got as many channels but it’s future proof and to be honest with you I’m glad I ended up with the 40. I’m saving for a power amp now and when I get it, it will be not far from prefect. As much as I wanted the extra power and channels the SR is dated technology and the 40 is plenty loud even running all the 9 channels. It also runs cooler and has better internals.
