My friend told me I was crazy to run the 1502s at 300w per channel into my R-26FA 100w RMS/400w peak, but you're over here running 440w or something into 125w peak bookshelfs like it's no big deal. I salute you sir.

@@Alex-ov3bz I agree with this. Compared to the 105 watts they were getting from my Denon 3600, they are singing and dancing with 300w. Gunshots! Car chases! Soundtracks! Now I have to get two more 1502s for my center and sides... Not having the buzz issues some folks seem to have. Used regular cables, but good "subwoofer" ones. Running regular input levels, I believe the Denon puts out 1.4v from the pre-outs as long as you set it to 11 channels in the setup even if you don't have all 11 wired up. Not any kind of expert, but I love it. Got the amp cranked all the way up.

Hey man, i dont want to be rude. but in the video you can clearly hear that the basement is full of echo. You should place some rugs and some wall accoustic treatment. It does help alot with audio :) a little tip, doesnt have to be expensive. I myself took some childrens madrasses and screw to the wall. It did wonders just that

Great setup!!! Why did you go with such a big amp in the front?
@Alex-ov3bz

Thank you! I had some power hungry speakers before this setup and figured this amp can handle any speaker I can throw at it. I have changed my front speakers 3 times and this amp never fails to deliver. I now have the Klipsch RF-7iii as my front channel and they sound superb with this amp.

@@Alex-ov3bz Fantastic!! So a quick question... How much of that amplifier are you actually going to using on those speakers on average? 30%? Maybe I don’t understand, but years ago I was taught your amp will always sound better at mid to higher volumes. If your amp is way oversized, will you not be losing quality?
@Alex-ov3bz

@@Edmonton98 on average 40-50% but I do hit 75% during work outs and it’s also used as a game room and theater. When in 2 channel listening it’s the best when it’s only the Crown XLS and the RF-7iii’s playing that when my system shines. Don’t get me wrong the MARANTZ SR7011 can ouch these just fine but I was also looking for that extra oomph and it delivers for. Please see the specs on the amp and ohm ratings for each speaker. My klipschs are 8ohm so I don’t think I’m over killing it. They can handle all that power and sound better when more power is given. power output: 440 watts x 2 at 8 ohms 775 watts x 2 at 4 ohms 1200 watts x 2 at 2 ohms 1550 watts x 1 at 8 ohms in bridged mode 2400 watts x 1 at 4 ohms in bridged mode frequency response: 20-20,000 Hz (-1 dB)

@Alex-ov3bz

John O'Connell hi, am using a rolls rca to xlr converter so that I can use xlr inputs from the rolls to the crown amps. This boosts my signal that I need to make the crown amps shine.

@@Alex-ov3bz Question, Did you first try the higher sensitivity setting on the Crown (.775 I think) before using the Rolls? I was worried about not getting full power to my Ultimax 18 after testing the amp on my friends Savard Hi-Q 8, which will take 650rms/1,200 peak. However, we were using the standard input sensitivity. The amp digs deep, but I had to max the gain for music, and back it off to about 3 o'clock for movies. It just seemed like there was more power there to extract? I also haven't played with the settings, so it could absolutely be user error...

93hostang hi, Yes I did try to change to the higher sensitivity it made a small difference to the sound, but no where near what the amp should be putting out. That’s when I put the rolls to work and what a difference it made.

Unfortunately not. I tried to hook them up to a 15amp WiFi plug and that fried instantly! I think the best route is to go with a WiFi receptacle outlet to handle the power from the amps.

@@Alex-ov3bz The amps have auxiliary control, I'm not entirely sure how you're supposed to work them but you can wire ground (middle pin) on both amps together and the sleep pins together and run them to a relay so that when you want the amps off, the relay closes and connects ground and the sleep pins together and when you want the amps on, the relay will open and the amps will turn on. I'm not sure how you could implement that into your system but there is a video i've seen that explains how you connect the auxiliary controls up.
