Yes partly. This is art, not H&M. Do you expect painters to paint something that all people could understand and relate to? No. So why would you expect a designer to "not design" and just copy the usual silhouette and style of H&M?

@@ramroum1783the most famous paintings are usually highly evocative even in abstract art; the fact that most people have an emotional connection is why they are masterpieces 😂 furthermore they still serve the function of art as they can be used to decorate a building. These pieces however do not serve the functional requirements of clothing and few can relate to them. Your comparison here merely makes you look ignorant and foolish.

I agree! I’m happy to hear differing opinions. I do find it interesting to look at. But I also lack the technical knowledge that Luke may have- and having that knowledge may give one a greater appreciation for what’s being done here! Sometimes I see a collection (looking at you, Chanel) and think “meh” then I see a behind the scenes of the hundreds of hours of meticulous work that a design house has done to create the garments and then I see them through new eyes.

All the dresses look beautiful on you already. I can’t imagine how much a tailor can do! I’d keep dress 2 and 3 to be modified as short dresses. The simpler 5th dress can definitely even work as a fancy evening dress.
