Just FYI, it's been rebooted, there are at least two more seasons in existence. I haven't watched them, just a few youtube clips. Don't know if it's as good as the original or not, though I can't say I'm fond of the CGI.

It is quite amazing how hard this cartoon resonates with the 80s kids. I grew up with it myself, and I watch the series about once per year. Its the same story every time, shivers down my spine, slight gasp as the condor takes to the air for the first time. I tried watching the new series but in my opinion it fell flat on its ass. For me what made MCoG so good as a child was that the animation and character design was very human-like. It brought an air of authenticity to the show. Also St. Elmo's Fire is the best track of the series :)

A great deal of this show's appeal was the background music. I never get tired of watching the series, and in remains undiluted by my repeated watching of the show.

I'm not an 80s kid, i was born in 2003 but this cartoon represents a lot for me. I was 6 when I watched it for the first time and I remember that I immediately liked it. Now I'm 17, I'm watching it for the second time and I just can't explain what I'm feeling, I cried at the end of the first episode.. I've not listened to the soundtrack for 11 years but every music sounded like I heard it yesterday! The mysterious cities of gold is just so powerful due to a fascinating story, an incredibly well composed soundtrack and beautiful graphics. And for the new series, the thing is that back in the days, cartoons were handmade in opposite to today's cartoons that are designed with computers and it feels much less human... (PS: I'm French so sorry for potential mistake ^-^)

I recently rewatched the original which I last saw as a kid and it held up so good, so rich and majestic, wonderful writing, animation and voice acting. Saw a bit of the sequel and its terrible. Awful exaggerated computer game animation, and generic voices and music. Not a patch on the original sadly, which is a shame but no surprise, exactly what I expected.

I loved the show when I was a child (I am an 80's child) and I presented it to my child now. Well, she adores the show and is always asking to see another episode. I am also hooked (again!) It is probably the most educational show I ever saw with my child. I am afraid that the seasons 2 and 3 will be a flop to us both :( Yes, I agree: so far St. Elmo's Fire is the best track of the serie!

All musical instruments 80's mostly back then where tuned to the Schuman resonance of the earth. This is why you feel the deep uplifting energies. After this era the standard was modified so all musical instruments will be tuned to a more negative frequency hence no uplifting positive prolonged effect on cells of the human body. feelings of higher energy's and upliftment have been stopped or negated.

Why is it that the theme for Snake Mountain was used in He man and Cities of Gold? It is definitely a good theme though.
@REMcCullick
7 жыл бұрын
Probably because both series had their incidental music composed by Haim Saban and Shuki Levy, and like any composer, certain stings and chords carry on from one work to the next. Even John Williams has chords in his newer work for Star Wars that remind me strongly (if not precisely) like music he did for Harry Potter. Furthermore, Saban and Levy composed the music for this and "Masters" within a year or two each other, what with "MCoG" release date pre-dating "MotU" by a year. So it's likely the MCoG track was one Saban or Levy really liked, and revised/revisited it to be used in MotU.

Hello Marc, if I request 1 simple Piano theme (its from an anime but the theme I am looking forward is unreleased) would you please do remix it? I can link you to the video that shows that anime theme.

Amazing. Less electronic than the actual soundtrack but I like it. I think if MCOG was ever made into a live action movie, the soundtrack would sound like this. Is this available for purchase?

Hi. Thank you very much for your kind comment. The piece cannot be purchased as I don't hold the rights for. Use a KZitem Downloader to download (and convert) it ;-)
