There is one thing I like about Marcus Miller. For a virtuoso bassist he could have choosen to make music for other bass players but he has choosen to make music for people. Just look at the composition of that audience. Young and old and diverse. With all the crap in the world today a dose of "Papa Was A Rolling Stone" can help one achieve real clarity

It was 2014 and I was alone in my basement around midnight till daylight. When I found This man playing bass with Stanley Clark and Victor Wooten also known as SMV. Three of the greatest bassist. EVER! Playing together live on stage. Which had me pondering. Mostly every band has a drummer, one lonely bassist, and too many guitarists. Why is it that way. Why ain't there one too no guitarists, and multiple bassist. Only two folks actually answered my ponder.

Andrés Mol one might argue about the versatility of his solos, but what does that really mean ? Still, as far as technical skills, ability to walk the line, give the groove, impose his own personality, lead a band, arrange a tune, compose songs and produce records, there are little contenders to compete with him :). And this, since the mid 80s. Marcus is definitely one of the musicians with the most impressive footprint in the history of jazz (at least).
