I'm from Boston huge Celtics fan so happy for the team getting it done but have to be honest a little bittersweet Marcus wasn't on the team. Celtics fans will always love and respect Marcus Smart for everything he did gave it his all everytime he stepped on the court !

Marcus looking like he did the yr the C's drafted him lol. Will always respect the hustle this man played with. Drawing fouls, steals, diving for the loose ball, chipping in with the scoring, etc. Game 2 vs miami two yrs ago when he went off, and seeing gary payton (One of my top 5 favorite players ever) hand him the DPOY award are two moments i couldn't have been happier for the man. The business end of the sport sometimes sucks, but he was a true celtic

He is sharing what led to his success. Boys are not like girls. They understand the communication of men. That experience changed his life and led to him being a dynamic sportsman. If he was treated with kid gloves he wouldn’t have turned out or had the determination to be what led to his success. And yes there are other ways but those other ways may not have worked for this person.

It hurt my heart when we traded Marcus. When the final buzzer went off and we won the championship I was super happy for my team, but I thought about Marcus and shed a tear. I hope he comes back to Boston one day and we win a title with him.

I just watched your interview. You kept it real about losing family. It’s difficult to lose your child no matter what the circumstances. Listening to this pod and getting to know Marcus Smart's background a lot more made me miss this guy playing for Boston even more. Brad had to trade him so that the Jays can be the leaders of the team and not lean on Marcus' voice. Hope he still talks to the Boston org and to the Jays.

IIRC, Marcus Smart wasn’t originally included in the trade for Porzingis. It was supposed to be Brogdon but Brogdon didn’t pass the physicals. Then Smart was included last minute
