One of the greatest books ever written. The fascinating saga keeps readers glued to it. I love it absolutely. A great tale of love and history. It is v long but worth reading surely.

She wrote the book from back to front- very unique. She was a civil rights activist in her day. Few people know that. For more detailed information go the Margret Mitchell house in Atlanta for a tour- eye opening!

She didn't quite write it from back to front, sequentially. She wrote the last chapter first. And then started at the beginning and wrote her way in order to end up at that last chapter. Apparently she had written up to "My dear, I don't give a damn." And then, she wrote the section that followed after that up until the very end: ".... tomorrow is another day."

Nasty book glamourising slavery and her heroine who we are meant to admire, is a bitter selfish sexually frustrates hollow shell of a human being who betrays everyone. And this is meant to be a great work?

Her older brother's name was Stephens, not Stephen 0:58. Stephens was Margaret's mother's Maiden Name. I met the gentleman once, he was a distinguished attorney.

There's a big Error here. Mitchell DID attend the Atlanta Premiere. She absolutely did. And she met privately with the stars of the film on the day before, which is when she met them.

This is called genius. And the word can freely be applied to anyone who has it. Female or male. Male or female. Easy peasy. No sweat.

An biography that I read years ago gave a very creepy account of her death. All her life, Mitchell was convinced that she would be killed by a car. All of her friends knew about this obsession, as she talked about it all the time. On the date she died (so it said) she was pushing her husband across the street in his wheelchair, when a car came careening towards them, veering wildly from side to side. Mitchell, terrified, abandoned her husband in the middle of the road and sprinted for safety. But the car completely missed her husband and ran up over the curb to fatally striking Mitchell! I can't remember which biography I read this in, and it may not even be true. But...interesting, yes?

First of all, thank you for the video. Secondly, this suggestion is meant kindly: if you are indeed "literary world" you should correct your video title to spell the word 'biography' correctly, Mrs. Mitchell will be most pleased.

Gone with the wind may take place in the Civil War and reconstruction but it's really about the Depression-one womans struggle to survive after losing everything overnight.

There was a TV ministries sequel taken from a book written by someone else. It came out in the 90's I believe. It was good, but not as good as GWTW.
