I feel like another thing to note is that Margot does genuinely enjoy food, she just doesn't like the pretentiousness or "deeper meaning" that some higher end dining has become. In the first scene she tells Tyler she prefers the oysters plain, rather than the dish we see which was topped with a citrus foam and some pearls. She also genuinely compliments of the Man's Folley dish even though she is smoking and chatting with those who "know cuisine". Then when she asks for a cheeseburger and fries, Slowick compliments her choice of American cheese. Margot has a pallet and appreciates food, just not in the way Slowick expects her to which is why she intrigues him so much. It's not just Margot didn't belong in both wealth and class, she was a genuine foodie that wasn't with the other pretentious diners. She is what Slowick was, and no longer can be returned to, thats why her fighting back and questioning everything won her the right to live. Thats why she is allowed to leave, thats why the other guests allow her to leave.

I believe with him letting her go without killing her was his way of atonement for what she had to go through on the island. The chef wants to kill everyone because he lost his joy of cooking Because apparently everyone turned into food critics who lost the sense of joy of eating food. They are no longer a customer. The chef fell into depression because he is made to be a person who pleases every food critics but he is not a food critic pleaser. He is a cook. The one who serves customer by making them eating tasty food. For years, the chef never had customers who are genuinely hungry and yearn to eat tasty food. Margot ordered a REAL cheeseburger, the one that poor people can barely afford but want to because they simply enjoy the taste of it. She simply emphasized that " No, I'm a customer. Not a food critics " And that also sends the message that " no, you're a cook, not a food critics pleaser nor a murderer" By emphasizing those two facts, the cook understood her message. So he let her leave understanding that she was a customer and that he was a cook.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Margot was an escort, right? What I'm getting at is that she was not on the registry, therefore there's no actual record of her being there. Tyler had another person in mind for this, and that person was listed for the event. So, in theory, since she got to escape and everyone else died, there is no proof, no record, of her being at this restaurant. The police will come and investigate and find all the bodies and identify them, they might realize this other woman was supposed to be there but was absent, so they might not even think someone survived, that there is a witness to all this madness. So it's quite possible Margot could keep all this to herself and not a soul but her would really know what happened that night. It's kinda wild to think Margot got away from all this and no one will ever know she was there...

No way. She is the only one here who actually understands people. She has whiny moments, but she is NOT at all irritable. If there was another character who was likable, she would connect to that person very well. The whiny and irritable character was Tyler. She acts like anyone would act in this situation and is not so full of herself like everyone else. She is not a flawless and pure hearted person, but she is the most human character alongside Chef Slowick.

Besides producers confirmation there wasn’t, you could tell Slowik was so honored she wanted something from the haPriest time of his life he’d not insult her wish for it by then killing her. @@Cheezeblade I don't trust Julian's view of "innocent," and neither should you. He even admits to being a monster, a signal to the audience that his justifications are personal, insufficient, and should NOT be read as justifiable class-warfare. His reasons for killing people include, a man for staring in a bad movie, and a couple not remembering what they ate. These are PERSONAL slights, as his reason for killing his abusive mother, who isn't wealthy, but who at least seems to have committed actual crimes. Others who have committed crimes include the "angel investor" and the table of the embezzlers who have committed various white collar financial crimes, Tyler, who is guilty of conspiracy and accessory changers to murder and hiring a prostitute, and Richard for hiring a prostitute. His classism fight argument is STRONGLY undercut by killing an actor who was probably raised poor or middle class and wanting to kill a random woman he knows nothing about for his menu. Most of the patrons are wealthy, essentially everyone but Margot/Erin. We know that Felicity Lynn was raised wealthy enough to go to Brown and not have debt, but she is not necessarily "billionaire class," especially if she had scholarships and Julian seems not even to have known this when he chose her for death. Tylor is enough of a chef fan that he might not be wealthy and this is his "vacation," and he has been saving for this. $ 2300, is a lot for a meal, but it's not an impossible figure for even people of moderate means to reach. I could pay to eat there, it just would be a lot of my year’s vacation budget. Two people were likely chosen to die merely based on coming with someone Julian wants to kill: Felicity, for attending with George Daiz; and the original Miss Westervelt, for planning on coming with Tyler, Magot is to die in her place because she replaced her. So this is not really Marxist statement. His reasons for killing are PERSONAL, this isn't a political statement. I can recall an actress once describing herself as "overworked" AND "overpaid" when discussing the long hours a major role requires on major productions, but also recognizing the major pay (this made me respect them). Julian is like this, overworked, but also overpaid. Julian is pissed at Erin for fighting back and declares her a taker, but her real crime is just that she doesn't want to die for his plan, maybe she thinks the rest should die for their behaviour or maybe she doesn't, but she just wants to live. His reason for letting her go is likewise, personal, she learned about him and chose to give him a moment of joy in the kitchen. He was happy cooking and serving her that burger, that was why she was allowed to live.
