As I read "Was Blind and Now I See" the biography of Doc Watson, I am amazed to learn of the strong connection between Marie Muldaur and so much of the roots music of the Appalachian south. She actually visited Doc Watson and his family and she and others worked to bring Doc to NYC in time to be a part of the folk scene of the day actually introducing Doc to a much wider audience than he would have known otherwise.

For me it made that summer very quirky and fun. 🌞🌝 Pool weather junior high stuff. Wish she was coming around here. Sounds like she had a very enriched childhood and life.

She probably meant WWRL 1600 on the right end of the AM dial in NYC, where they played a lot of blues and doo wop

Elvis bought black artist songs, the rights giving them peanuts and then going on to make millions.
