I think that she kicked his ass too. But, to me, from a aesthetic point of view. Irish dance is nice but Flamenco is a way more beautiful dance for sure. It involves all the body, every inch of it. also no other dance is match to it in terms of passion.

Flamenco predates the Moor's presence in Spain. It may have picked up some influence there but it is based on Indian Kathakali dance. It remains very similar to Kathakali; the resemblance is very striking.

What you're doing it's called "cultural appropiation", please stop. This is spanish/iberian culture.
@mmedefarge
2 жыл бұрын
@@redl1ner170 LOL! I'm of Spanish extraction on both sides of my family. Spain has had many cultural influences over the centuries, Basques, Celts, Romans, Jews, Berbers, Syrians, Visigoths and northern Indians. You might want to study some of your own early history.
@redl1ner170

@@mmedefarge I'm spanish, I don't need a foreigner who claims to be of "spanish extraction on both sides of his familiy" to tell me the history of my own country, thanks. Flamenco is not an "indian" dance, it's iberian/spanish, I guess you may also have an "indian extraction on both sides of your family" to say such ridiculous thing. And the "basques" are not an "influence", they are natives of the iberian peninsula you know, unlike "north indians" ("basque" is a modern word anyways). The word Andalucia itself comes from the basque language Landa Luziak, which means Open fields. Do you know who were the turdetanians? Of course you don't. And now you may want to start speaking about the history of your own true country instead of spreading false information about others country solely based on your own nationalistic agenda. It's hilarious how people from different countries always claim their countries are the craddle of flamenco, like ancient iberians were completely illiterates who didn't have a clue about music or dancing. Don't you guys have a culture of your own to felt fond of or anything?

@@mmedefarge based on Kathakali dance? Northern Indians? You may be have some spanish ancestry mate, but you clearly have no idea of what you're talking about. With all due respect I think it's you who needs to educated yourself in this matter. You may want to start with who were the tartessians and the turdetanians before you keep embarrassing yourself. Cheers.

@@Inquisitorvm They were the original Gypsies of northern India and they began migrating to Europe starting in the 5th century CE. Of course Spain put their own distinctive moves into flamenco but many of moves are very similar to the Indian Kathakali dance; ask any dancer who has danced both and they will tell you the same. Most Spanish folk dances look typical of S. European folk dances except for flamenco and another dance from S. Spain that resembles belly dances from N. Africa (I forget what it's called). Even the Basques came from elsewhere as did ALL Europeans, the last continent that humans settled in the ancient world (the Americas being settled by humans last). Spanish as well as ALL European languages are INDO-European (with the exception of Basque) and have many shared words with Sanskrit.

@CELIBERICO If they're not related, then how do you explain the powerful similarities between Kathak (a dance form performed in India and brought to Spain by Moorish Roma people) and Flamenco. Every flamenco dancer I've ever talked to has said that all the genres you yourself mentioned, among others, are related. YOU should read up on your history!
@CELIBERICO

actually the Andalusians were already far advanced in the art of dancing way before the "Arabs/Muslims" arrived, and besides, you can't dance like this in the Muslim world, and the "belly dance' doesn't cut it either. I do not believe this moorish bullshit........or arabic whatever........read your history.

Actually, no. The iberian tribes already knew about music, singing and dancing you know, way before the arrive of the muslims and even before the romans. Some Arab/magrebian nationalists are kind of anoying pretending to be the craddle of anything related to Iberia. I bet you'll tell us that arabs brought the wheel into Iberia as well. Our culture is ours, it is not anyone fetish. "Being influenced" and "originated from" are different concepts. And btw, the word Andalucia comes from the euskera language "landa luziak" which means Open Fields. A perfect and short description of Andalusia. Euskera is the oldest language in Europe, and one of the oldest in the world.
