Thank you Iris for your reply and valuable perspective! It's wonderful that you are engaged politically. All respect to you! With more respect, can you name the 8 steps of critical thinking skills? Can you define the difference between logic and feeling? Have you thought really deeply about what the Putins of the world would do if a Marianne were elected when they well know that the only thing she has any experience with and has governed has been a spiritual center? In a simplified math example just to demonstrate how the election works let's say DT gets 100 votes for president; Biden on the other hand instead of receiving 110 votes - he loses 10 votes to people who vote for a candidate they write in, he loses another 10 votes to people who can't stand Biden or Trump and so they choose not to vote at all - they stay at home, and he loses another 10 votes to people who vote for Marianne. Can you see how the math then puts more votes by default into DT's column and ushers him into the White House (WH)? Marianne has wonderful ideas. She definitely needs to be in the political arena! We need a lot more people like Marianne! And I honor her and would love to vote for her. But unless she can capture near all 100% of the votes Biden would receive plus additional votes, DT becomes president. Did you know Iris that Hilary Clinton won by more than 4 million votes total in the popular vote in the 2016 election? MORE than 4 million votes over DT in the 2016 election, and she still LOST the presidency!! Biden has to win by a VERY LARGE total number of votes due to the electoral college or DT gets in again. Every vote placed into a 3rd party candidate, in this case for Marianne, raises the water level so to speak on DTs side - it subtracts votes on the Biden side and increases significantly the votes on the Trump side. So a 20% syphoning of votes off of Biden and into Marianne will by way of the ELECTORAL COLLEGE put Trump BACK in office; can you live with that? Can the world? With honor and respect to you Iris, I can tell you have a sincere heart, but your sentiment about a radical change is exactly what the GOP in 2016 used as their "Logic" to vote a complete inexperienced Donald Trump into office. Do you know the definition of trite Iris? I encourage you to continue to be engaged and think beyond the trite for if a radical change only garners 15 to 30 % of the vote away from Biden, then Trump is re-elected. Best always to you!

@@jamesk8s1 Seems like you've listed a slew of reasons for Biden to face a real primary, from people who have decent ideas and a plan to attempt them, regardless of experience in the office- Biden has pursued a few solid moderate-liberal policies in office, and CLEARLY has no intent to implement a single progressive one. The ONLY reason he's done those few policies that are less than anti-progressive is because Bernie kicked up a LOT of shit in the campaign, and Biden saw some avenue to co-opt progressive cred without actually DOING anything progressive, but he's caved slightly away from his center-right history slightly to pressure from his primary fight and public pressure. It's time he actually considers EVERY SECOND of the real public interest, and the corporate money FIRST that, let's face it, still completely controls the government.

@cirella1064 Adding GOD into the equation Totally Invalidates any conversation. Religion Kills.
@moorek1967
11 ай бұрын
@@paddyholly2184 It only invalidates it for you because you are simply wanting every sin to be permitted, even if the atheism kills. You are just like every other moral relativist, you think your morality is better because only to you is it better, and that is really a shame that you don't want to see that the very thing you said kills, you have condemned killing so as long as it is religious in nature, knowing full well that you refuse to admit atheism kills. See, here is a problem, atheists say that humans are nothing but the random by-product of the cold, unfeeling, unhearing, uncaring natural processes of the universe and it took billions of years of lightning strikes hitting this planet almost every day, that in those exact same conditions, one day the lightning strike caused a single cell organism to suddenly come alive and somehow despite its very short lifespan, managed without adaptations needed for survival, somehow magically reproduced. But the questions about abiogenesis were too much for the average atheist so now your side don't care and no longer hold that view, so human kind came from somewhere. It isn't good enough to say God created all, nope you have to agree with a zoologist who said the universe only looks like it was created, but the universe came from nothing, and that nothing, which by definition means non-existent and you do not have logical or absolute proof that anything came from non-existence.....and you have a problem with God that you demand proof. Yet, you say the proof necessary for evidence of non-existence is Richard Dawkins saying human kind was seeded by aliens in alien craft......you demand proof for non-existence yet you agree with non-existence of the nothing that you claim you evolved from. And you call that brilliant because science somehow now is a living being who makes all kinds of moral decisions...because you know, science is just able to invent things on its own and nothing to do with the scientists who are the ones coming up with scientific experiments and claim interpretation, just so long as the interpretation agrees with the grant givers. But you are evolved from nothing, because nothing is nothing so therefore nothing can be because nothing is isn't. And you want us to believe that? Nothing means nothing exists. So then how did you evolve from nothing? A billion years of the same lightning striking the same water? The clouds evolved from nothing. So there was no lightning, because it didn't come from nothing. Now we need to make it clear, your evolution came from nothing, and because nothing is nothing, then you could not have evolved from nothing because only something can evolve. Therefore, basically you are nothing. No mind, no intelligence, nothing because nothing is not something and something is not nothing. So where is the obligation for me to believe you even exist if you tell me that you came from nothing and somehow, you don't know how, but you have all the answers for moral judgments because of the nothing you evolved from became animals and mankind is just animals and animals kill without regard for life, then why does religion kill when you tell people they are animals? Why is it then wrong? Can you explain? Don't tell me social contract, you said we are animals, animals don't have contracts to be nice.

She is the example of a true American who cares who has workable ideas to put into action by helping us people use our power to change things. This is the leader we need to put into The presidential office! We can all be more mentally, emotionally and spiritually sound with her help. She's right there is a sickness of acquiescing to our country's ways of ignoring and brushing under the rug, our most basic problems, wrong decisions and detrimental policies causing death and destruction. It's time to addressed what we ignore. She has policy already written out and this speech tells it. Spread the word to anyone you see today (and everyday), to pay attention to this American leader. We can show the world, we are wise caring mature and have solutions. We can heal our selfish ignorant ways-and do this without continuing to hurt working class citizens, our young, old, sick, poor, dying, homeless, those enslaved labor, the mentally unstable... And instead give everyone opportunity to master their potential. (The Rich will not suffer either) Instead we will come together to improve and solve so many issues. Let's remember life depends on how we treat our animals, soil, plants, water, air, food supply. She explains over and over how we can can use our power to have a better existence today and tomorrow. Yes!! In New Mexico, for example, we have MASSIVE levels of food insecurity - people, even children, going to bed hungry. Most people cannot afford medical insurance here either. Poverty is off the charts high. We are, as far as I can tell, pretty much in the state of a third world county. Most homeless people in Seattle living out of their cars are WORKING full time. The Appalachian Mountain areas are also still in horrible shape economically, as is much of the South. Medical debt is causing bankruptcies and people are literally dying, and we all know why this is happening. It doesn't have to happen. European countries somehow manage to grant healthcare for all their people. They send their young people to college, where they also graduate without debt. Their jobs pay better wages. They work better hours. They also get and take (in many cases) months of time off every year - weeks and even months at a time away from work, usually as paid time off - because their managers state that the workers' mental health and productivity would be negatively affected if they didn't get these long vacation periods. Trickle down economics has never worked, and the corporations and our current "leaders" know that - they just don't care. 1/3 of working people are in homeless territory, so tell me again how the government is serving us! IT IS NOT. This is the only candidate really hearing the biggest issues for American citizens.

Just after you were born, no matter how bad the circumstances, a person, or people, gave you some measure of loving kindness, some amount of compassion. That was your introduction to life, the implicit knowledge that loving kindness and compassionate understanding are indispensable for human life to exist. The foundation of human life, therefore, is loving kindness and compassionate understanding. As we age we are taught otherwise by damaged people. 💔 Their misdirection is rarely intentional. They are simply sick due to their own early learning experiences. Once this is understood, we can seek help to dismantle the wrong thinking that we were taught and insert, through daily practice, right thinking, and thereby right actions. Marianne, What do you do when a union doesn't support its workers? My sister worked as a Valet in Las Vergas for about 8 years. She parked cars for one of the casinos making good money in tips. Someone purposely videotaped her (I believe they set her up) She was doing what the valets had been doing for years. Why they picked on her I don't know, but she got into trouble and was ultimately fired. At the time Her husband had passed away. He was her rock and advisor. She didn't know who to turn to. She had no advisor, no lawyer (I guess that's what she needed) or anyone else to help her. To make things worse her union did not support her. They were on the side of her employer who had brought the charges against her. This happened over five years ago. This incident stills bothers her today!!!!

The rich consume too much but not as much as the majority would and we barely have the resources to house everyone. America has changed becuase the world has changed. Trickle down economics has held America together but stripped it of its spirituality and consumed the middle and lower class with stress. Untill we Can support everyone consuming like they did in the 1960s them I cannot support economic reform. And I don’t know if we will ever be able to support that, untill the population starts dropping. Everyone has a right, in their own comment space provided to each viewer, to share their point of view. If someone else's view does not agree with mine, I don't then feel the need to attack them. We are so fortunate to be able to connect with people from every state in our nation and around the world with everyone able to present pros, cons and any concerns that they may have; so that, we can all consider and reflect upon them. We can think deeply about all the various considerations presented; everyone can contribute to a healthy conversation. If I or anyone doesn’t share the view of another, it doesn’t invalidate nor should it threaten someone else’s position - it’s simply a point to consider, which is what any intelligent person would welcome in a healthy vibrant conversation around such an important topic as choosing the president of the United States. There is no need for unkindness. I would very much like to see Marianne’s progressive policies supported, funded and enacted by congress, every single one of them! I align with the majority of her spiritual teachings. However, without anger toward one another, let’s calmly assess the following: In 2016, Hilary Clinton won by nearly 2.9 million popular votes over DT. 7.5 million votes went to other candidates. Those other candidate votes subtracted from Clinton’s total vote count, giving Trump the electoral college victory and the presidency. In 2020, Biden won by 7+ million votes. However, if a similar election vote total occurs in 2024 for Biden and Trump as it did in 2016 for Clinton and Trump, those who vote for “other candidates”, will unwittingly subtract from Biden’s total vote count, giving Trump another electoral college win putting him back into the White House just as was done in 2016. It is simple mathematics. Unless Marianne can garner the majority of base votes from Biden/Harris plus many more millions of votes additionally on top of that to secure an electoral college victory, her noble ideas and presidential bid in 2024 will REPEAT what happened to Hillary Clinton in 2016 when so many voters who hated her did not vote at all or voted for “other candidates”; thereby greatly reducing Hillary Clinton’s total vote count, which opened the door for DONALD TRUMP and made him the “president” of the United States. CAN WE ENDURE ANOTHER 4 YEARS OF PRESIDENT TRUMP? Is this the right election year to risk repeating what happened in 2016, when DT is just a millimeter away from the Oval office? The presidency is not a Monarch where a King or Queen can by decree enact whatever policy they wish. Presidential executive orders have limitations the boundaries of which will not encompass M.W.’s liberal progressive policies as much as I would like to see them enacted. Policies such as the ones M.W. wants to enact must have a majority of congressional support and FUNDING to be passed into law. How will she convince the congress? With the moderate center/right wing of the congressional Democrats and the already large and expanding GOP FAR right extremists who can’t even get their own party members to support their own FAR Right Wing agenda in congress, how will Marianne gain support from enough congressional members for all of her progressive liberal policy wishes? Have you heard Mike Johnson’s views, the new GOP FAR FAR Right Speaker? Have you heard how he looks at the world and every political issue completely thru the lens of the Bible - and not just Johnson, but a very large majority of Republicans concur with his views? Mike Johnson won’t allow many of M.W.’s policies ever to come to the floor for a vote. Do you know that the non-religious spiritual text that M.W.’s has taught from for the last 40 years, A Course In Miracles, is considered to be the “Devils work” at worst and an affront of lies to the Bible by traditional religious persons? I love the Course, but traditional religious people do not! How will traditional Christian Mike Johnson and so many other traditional religious GOP members respond to that, and how will she get the large number of religious voters in this country to vote for her in the general? George W. Bush, Republican president, had a comprehensive immigration/border security reform bill ready to go. The GOP radicals stopped it, his OWN party. Having brilliant ideas is great, but getting congress, especially our large radical GOP members, to support and fund those ideas especially progressive policies, is a huge obstacle for even the most seasoned of politicians. Who blocked Obama’s efforts at comprehensive border security reform? Okay, here’s the thing. In June 2013, the U.S. Senate passed an immigration overhaul bill with 68 votes. That’s an unheard-of tally in gridlocked Washington. The legislation went to the House, where it promptly died. Speaker Boehner (R-Ohio) backed down after the more vocal minority in his majority revolted and refused to let it go to the floor for a vote. By June 2014, president Obama was in the Rose Garden announcing that he was going to take executive action because Boehner “informed me that Republicans will continue to block a vote on immigration reform at least for the remainder of this year.” - Washington Post I love Marianne’s policies as a liberal myself; would love for her to be president. But people rush into marriage based on passion without having really carefully evaluated their potential spouse and how does that often turn out? In a similar way, the GOP’s “logic” in 2016 was “we need RADICAL EXTREME change” which justified their voting for DT. They didn’t think it thru, no amount of facts, data, logic, truth or reason could in 2016 or now in 2023/2024 cool their fired up passions, which causes them to blindly vote for DT no matter the cost to us all - how has that worked out? Is it wise for Democrats to follow the same line of thinking? This is written simply as points of consideration worthy of using critical thinking skills; it is written in a tone of respect to all. Everyone must honor themselves by doing what each of us has determined thru our own intelligent critical analysis is the right thing to do! And we must honor everyone on this point; for doing our best on the matter of determining whom to vote for POTUS is the best we can ask of anyone! I honor everyone’s choice. We will all learn to live with the outcome we individually and collectively vote for.

Thank you for your insightful and detailed commentary that is composed with respectful passion and rigor like a true Marianne Williamson supporter, and threaded with insight and context. As a hard-nosed realist, I don't think she is going to be elected president. She galvanizes me anyway. This is the logical next step after Bernie. Nobody will look out for us. We have to stand up for ourselves. Rule number one: there is no going back into our caves, only forward into the light and into each other's care. This is her north star, and it shines in every direction. Like Marianne Williamson and yourself... I too am a student of history and I know that a powerful voice from the visible margins can volley seriously effective policy ideas into the mainstream. We did it before and we can do it again. Let's all work on a more perfect union, together!

@@peggydale4638 Thank you Peggy for your reply and valuable perspective! In a simplified math example just to demonstrate how the election works let's say DT gets 100 votes for president, Biden instead of receiving 110 votes - he loses 10 to people who vote for a candidate they write in, he loses another 10 votes to people who can't stand Biden or Trump and so they choose not to vote at all - they stay at home, and he loses another 10 votes to people who vote for Marianne. Did you know Peggy that Hilary Clinton won by more than 4 million votes total in the popular vote in the 2016 election? MORE than 4 million votes over DT in the 2016 election, and she still LOST the presidency. Biden has to win by a very large number due to the electoral college or DT gets in again. With honor and respect to you, it's not cynicism so much Peggy as it is simply basic math and logic. Best to you and all respect always.

@@jamesk8s1 Thanks for the critical thinking tips! Unfortunately, I have always done the math before I vote & voted for the win. Whether or not my choice actually won or not, I never felt right if I didn't believe in my heart this was the right choice for the country. In 2020, I was in Arizona & felt my vote counted as never before.

@@peggydale4638 Thank you Peggy, I hear you and appreciate your response. In these very precarious times as the world and the United States seeks to navigate these difficult waters, every voice needs to be heard and respected. I do respect and applaud you for your civic engagement! It is clear that you care deeply about this country and want only the best. We need people like you who care deeply about the future of our fragile democracy! Let us all continue to explore the possibilities and seek ways of working together to create a better and safer political landscape and world for everyone. And may we all use our best logic, reason and long term understanding of the consequences of our actions and find a way to cast our 2024 presidential votes in a way that will ensure that DT never sets foot in the WH again for our sake and for the sake of generations to come! My very best wishes to you and your family now and always! Thank you.

Marianne talks in empty platitudes with no real detailed policies, ideas or solutions. Justice is not a policy, fairness is now a program.
