I genuinely dislike the vibes I get off of the people working in the store. And yeah the disrespect put on her house… like it’s one thing to share the culture behind her magic, and teach it and offer a practitioners service, but to profit off of it, and not actually teach anything about it is just disrespectful to me, and this is one of the many reasons why people go around spreading nonsense on apps like tik toc about witch craft.

My Great grandma was a practitioner, and yes I study it and know it well, the problem is, white people try and add Wicca type tradition to hoodoo, in hoodoo, there is no temple because hoodoo is not a religion like voodoo, it a magical practice . White people get the two hoodoo and voodoo crossed. many hoodoo practitioners were Christians. so the church was there temple, and the bible was there conjure book. the Psalms in particular was the scriptures of choice. Hoodoo was American made magical system by slaves who didn't have time for ritual, so much of it is base on charm work, and quick spells. I know what hoodoo is about, but do you, it's part of my culture. hoodoo is the African American experience, and noone outside of that experience can really relate. so don't question me on what I know, the question is what do you know?

voodoo was practiced in your ancestral house. because it was most of the times family oriented. And yes there were temples elsewhere, but not in a place of business. how disrespectful is that to the spirits, a place of worship should be dedicated to the house of the spirits and to them alone, you have to have room to dance, to create veves, and play the Drums. A temporary temple can be out in the open, on a beach when consulting yemeya eg. do not cross your temple with your place of business. I view that as disrespectful to the Loas.
