I always found the lines where he says " you posion all your children to camouflage your scars", to be a powerful and true statement. I think we are all victims of our parents mistakes and traumas. So more then others. This song is so painful to listen to. It's feels like a fresh cut. True genius.

When I was in high school my music teacher told us to do a work about a musician who had mark ourselves. I chose Marilyn Manson and the song "The Man That You Fear". I was then the bullied freak and the most harsh threatened. But I remember how when I expose my work, my teacher said that Manson was a true poet. Could be something stupid but that was the happiest thing happened on my teenage.

People throw stones at things that shine. Marilyn is one of them. He has always been different and rebellious. He is not a follower but a gainsayer. I was about to lose my hope to find someone real in this industry as a musician, till I encountered him. People love being pseudo-individuals. People love being fake, seeing fake around them. They think being like that will cover up all their flaws, but they put themselves into a deeper shit unintentionally. Whenever I listen to Marilyn's music, I feel something super intimate, super real and fragile. I love the way how brave he is to show all his flaws rather than covering them up with fake masks. I love how he can express his fragility without being afraid. Most people are afraid to cry, afraid to look sad, in fear of being seen like a weak or pathetic person by others. However, Marilyn showed who the real pathetic and weak are. I even read his autobiography to make sure if he was as real as I thought. However, he has never let me down. He and artists like him are the real ones people should respect and value. World has always been cruel to this kind of people. However, they persistently continue to be the way they are. These people are the only ones the world can't ruin or denigrate. Edit: I haven't thought of writing this here until now, but last year I was watching Hannibal. On Instagram I followed Mads Mikkelsen who was the main character in the series "Hannibal". I saw him sharing fan art coming from fans, mostly of his pictures being drawn by fans. I decided to send my own drawing of him and then soon I saw him sharing my art and my name on it saying I have a nice name. Then as I followed Marilyn Manson on Instagram as well, I saw that he actually liked that post. I was shocked, but mostly because he probably had no idea who I was and that actually it was him who's been my top favourite artist of all times. So I wrote to him on Instagram DM section but of course he hasn't seen any of it. Then I decided to delete my Instagram account out of the blue to stay out of social media. The reason why I'm writing this to here is because I want him to hopefully read this comment and see it. It'd make me really happy if you just thumbs up and thank you for reading such a long edit. ❤️

The way this video shows several biblical scenes is simply amazing, placing him in the role of Christ. I just find it so ingenious. The confession in the shower, him again as Christ. The kiss is so soft and sweet but also is the Juda's kiss...The way she washes his feet is outstanding; when she helps him get dressed reminds me somehow of 'The danish girl' movie. Then the long walk to crucifixion and when he falls to the ground. Such a beautiful video but the way he looks here is beyond gorgeous. I think the message here is about the so called misunderstood genius. Excellent :) ❤ #Istandwithmanson - We are with You, M. You deserve all the love. .... im a MM fan...( so don't think im some one shitting about MM) ... but goddammit Marilyn manson IS satanic ... he is member of the church of Satan, he was a close friend of Anton lavey, he has the sigil of baphomet tattooed, he wrote part of "Satan speaks" (last satanic book by Anton lavey) and most of his lyrics represent satanism philosophy. plus there is nothing wrong with being a satanist ... ¡¿or there is something wrong?! Cristobal Gajardo Maybe he is some kind of a sananist, but not that much. In his book LHROUH he wrote he became a member of the church of satan to get closer to that guy so he could learn more. He also says satan doesn't exist because what satan and hell exist, god and heaven must exist too
@toacristoba

...you know satanist actually do DOT worship Satan... they are atheists... they use the word "Satan" as a symbol of man natural carnal needs and desires, a symbol of indulgence, of self preservation ... i know that cuz im a satanist. so satanist know that Satan do not exist, like y said before they use it just like a symbol. but on all the rest you are completely right, and i agree with you i just want you to know that (satanist do not think Satan is an actual deity) ;)

Cristobal Gajardo You're right. Most people does not see the difference between Satanism and Luciferianism. It's annoying when I have to argue with an unaware christian who claims that Satanists worship Satan. In my honest opinion unawareness of most people is caused by church. Priests scare people with their sermons. I wonder why are they so credulous.

Generation X'r get it. The world is a hard and lonely place. We don't sulk, we move forward. We had ut easy, yet hard. Soft, yet stale. Pain was familiar yet distant. We would prick our finger, and instead of crying out we would cry within. We don't hold back, we merely hold it in until it needs to come out. We don't cry when people don't like us, we don't really care because the ones who love us are the ones who matter.

Based on "The Lottery" by Shirley Jackson. This song is literally a discussion about the entire story if you take out the music and prose. This isn't about MM being an outcast or stoning him due to his strange social scruitny at the time. This is literally about a man trying to tell a town they need to stop holding a lottery once a year and killing a citizen. And that, by not changing, they poison all their children by covering up their sins. And yes, in the book children are not immune to the lottery. And yes children must participate in the murders. And yes, he's amazingly beautiful in this video. Both with and without his makeup.
