This is one of the most extraordinary compositions for marimba that I have ever heard. Keep them coming!

Hi Brandon, that's great, best of luck. I like the Promark Glennie mallets for this piece. I use one red (soft) and three blues (medium). Keep the busy 32nd notes loose, keep them as free and easy as a one-handed roll. Thanks!

Great music ! As we play this piece on marimba, it seems to convey the picture of a little circus. Now, there is a circus number, with movements, laughters, some unexpected and like amusing little pranks... The atmosphere of the stage is somewhat confusing with crescendos and fun stage games. A minor gives a special light, like an emotion a little out of step with the adventures that are taking place... Bravo for this piece, beautifully composed and played !

I just love listening to marimba.. I could only dream of playing like him one day. Its a complete dream to play for a DCI group, but coming from a small high school I doubt it happening.

You came and did a lecture on marimba and orchestral snare at Utah's day of percussion last year! I was blown away. I hope to be as good as you some day. Just a dream come true. And I am the 100th comment! wahoo!

When I first watched the video(listened), I was like:"OMG this is so hard!", but after listening to it for several times, I figured, its only the beginning that's a bit complicated. Other is all octaves and chromatics :P Anyways, this piece is still great and I want to play it really bad, so i'm gonna buy it! Keep doing the great work! You're an inspiration for all of us!

Casey, I'm looking at the score now and I noticed that in measure 2, the left hand has an E and a G#, but you're play a G# and either a B or a C in this video. Is that something you changed? I think it sounds better the way it is in this video but I wasn't sure why it was different.

The keyword is to RELAX and use a LOT of wrist technique (and single alternated strokes). I recommend the Method of Movement for Marimba (book by Leigh Howard Stevens). You can see Casey's flow in 0:01 to 0:14.
