This song... Wow. I was sexually abused when I was just a child by the one who was supposed to be my protector. My step father was supposed to step in when my real father was absent, instead he betrayed my trust and did something unspeakable to not only me but to others as well. By the grace of God I have found healing. I'm still on the road to forgiveness, but this song... It's like it took me right back, to the pain and the freshness of the wound. But it also makes me feel so strong, like I have tried to be all these years. I just wanted to write this to possibly be a reminder that whoever has gone through a traumatic experience that you're never alone and that there is healing just around the corner. God bless ❤

"Fear & Loathing" - "Not everyone is out to screw you over" "Soft To Be Strong" - "I made myself believe other people wanted to hurt me" I love all the correlations that hint at Marina's growth. Also, "These people are weird in here and they're giving me the fear" in "The Outsider" - I can see this theme of love and fear theory being with her longer than she realized, and how it made sense to her, when she learned of it.

I think Marina really matured after TFJ. Electra Heart is more of a project than a chronicle of her experiences and life (which is why she’s said she really doesn’t feel anything for it anymore, while she still identifies with TFJ since that was still _her_ but young). But the idea behind EH is very mature - trying to realistically analyze feminism, sex, love, and the perceptions of women people have in the modern day

This song describes exactly how it feels like to get over something that hurt you deeply, to fix your broken heart and move on with your life wiser and stronger than before, having embraced your vulnerable, sensitive nature and having found strength in it. It's like an epiphany when you realize that you did nothing wrong. It wasn't your fault that you opened your heart and trusted the wrong people and finally it's okay to be yourself. There's nothing shameful with being soft and sentimental. The right people will appreciate it when they come into your life. Oof I love you, Marina.

It's kind of unfair to think that. Love and Fear are more like separate entities dealing with separate parts of the same whole. To Be Human is the more external component, and the center of Love. Learning to see other people as similar to yourself with problems and feelings of their own. Not something to alienate yourself from, and to accept for all their strengths and failings. For what they are, for what you are; Human. Meanwhile, Soft To Be Strong is deeply internal. Coming to terms with the anxieties that plagued you as an individual, the center of Fear. Improving yourself to be the best person you can be by removing the cynical outlook from your life that held you back from being happy, and giving yourself to love without fear of the repercussions that can follow.

I love how Marina made a duality to the word "love" in most part of the album. When I hear the chorus I think of my mom, and there is some other musics in this album when I heard I think of my friends, so even though love is mostly related to romantic love, Marina made the lyrics in a way we could all relate. This is beautiful.

I feel like this was the greatest closing to one of the greatest Albums I've had the pleasure to listen to in recent memory... Marina took us all through the beauty/meloncaly of love to than do it all over again with fear.. showcase to us her struggles of fear and how it caused her to be unwilling to love and or accept love in every faccet in the most vulnerable & uninhibited ways only to go through all that and come out better and more understanding of the power Vulnerablity and softness has to make someone a truly strong person .... Just WoW idk what she did in the years after froot till now but there was cleary a deep dive of really working on herself, self reflection on herself, her struggles, and fighting and really grinding to come out of those to be a better person.. I felt every ounce of that in this album; I feel so much admiration towards her for her journey and sharing it so purely with us all through this album. in recent times I've been desperately trying to go through this journey as well for myself and while I'm not yet at the soft to be strong stage in my personal journey as of yet to overcoming my fear, hurt, trauma, and sense if inadequateness.. I hope to be soon and hearing this really helped heal me and make me realize the work that I still need to do on myself.. this was an extreme hell of a journey and as a fellow artist myself I give all my praise and than some to you Marina.. this truly couldn't of came out at a better time for me and I assume many others as well.. this was an honnor to hear! Truly a complete a utter masterpiece of a creation!! Just WoW! I can't say it enough!

"I choose to love you without fear" Feeling this now, I'm currently inlove with my best friend, they rejected me, but I'm choosing to stay in their life and love them unconditionally even if they will never feel the exact same towards me, i know they genuinely care for me and want me in their life. Now I feel I can express my love to them without feeling like I'm trying to win them over or trying to impress them, i can just be me. This experience has taught me I can have unconditional love without expectations towards someone i care for, which i feel is the when relationships thrive the most. its can be hard at times, what id do for them to love me back...but just throwing our friendship away would have been a selfish and cowardly thing for me to do, especially since they haven't intentionally hurt me in any way, just rejected me, which any mature adult should be able to handle. I love marina so much...

Marina has been with me for a long time. When I discovered her I felt understood. I was battling with depression and a broken heart. Electra Heart became my personal bible and life guidance. I discovered so much of myself thanks to Electra Heart. When Marina released FROOT I was a little bit more mature and felt deeply connected to each song in a different way, it was surreal that an artist could express so much of what I was going through. When Marina released the announcement of LOVE AND FEAR I was in a much better place. After so many years, it kinda feels as if Marina and I have grown wiser and more mature together. When I listen to this song I can't help but cry because of everything I've been through, all of the pain, all of the heartbreak, all of the bad...but I cry because I finally feel the fear is gone, I'm getting married in a couple of weeks to the guy I looked for so many years and it just makes me so happy to feel that somehow, Marina is here with me to share this moment in my life. So many songs of you fit so good to me, even when I'm male. Somehow it takes the feeling of being hopeless away from me. Thanks for that. I truly love you and your great work, marina

So odd to have stumbled across this song today... it’s like she took the thoughts right out of my head & made a song just for me 😭

Its crazy how her music has always been on point and what i needed most to grow at that exact stage of life. I’m so proud of her, myself and anyone else that’s grown with this music and come such a long way in life. And im so grateful to her for being a strong female voice and such an incredible role model to so many young girls in a world that really needed it (including myself). Thank you Marina ❤️❤️❤️
