If I had a time machine, instead of going back in time to kill Hitler I would go back to experience Marine World Africa USA in Redwood City just one more time. The Bay Area has never been the same since it departed.

It would mean my grandparents and great grandparents would still be alive and I would still have some innocence left in me. I would gladly join you on that trip.

@@darklordojeda yeah, periodically I come back to this video just to remember the grandeur of marine world and the bay area as it was when I grew up. That world is pretty much gone now and once my parents sold the childhood house it kinda crushed the last remnants of the good old days for me. Kids are less innocent these days than we were back then but at least we have the memories. Thanks for posting.

This is friggin' unbelievable. I lived near Redwood City in the 80's and this show was a staple of the Marine World experience and hearing Paul McFarland's voice transported me back there again. Between the closure of Marine World Africa USA in 1986 and the Malibu Castle (closed last year) all Peninsula kids have to do nowadays is stay home to surf porn and play Halo.

Malibu, yeah I was upset about that closure too. All they've done is tear our the building and race track but the palms are still there and the pool that was for the bumper boats. Been vacant that whole time.

I was happy to find this. Something got me to search for it. I saw the show when I was a kid, either the late 60's or early 70's and thought I remember the boats each had four engines on them. I could be wrong about that though. But let me believe.

Thank you for posting this. It has restored my childhood memories that Slum Flags has destroyed for the sake of greed. They took Marine World and ran it straight into the ground for the sake of the profit motive.

Lived in Redwood Shores a year after this show- 1982 the show was pretty much the same- The theme music to Chariots of Fire while watching the water skiing is inbedded in my memory- I had a golden pass (for daily admission throughout the season) to the park since I lived about 2 minutes away- My parents lived on the same street as the tiger/lion tamer and we were friends with him and his family- He gave us a tour of the big cat enclosure once and my siblings and I petted a tiger! Fond memories.

Great post! As a kid, I saw this show several times, it heavily influenced my life. Have been water skiing ever since! I’ve heard that one reason that shows like this no longer exist has to do with insurance. Idk, but it’s sad the youth can no longer see shows like this. Instead, they typically just play computer games.

I am so glad that this is on here. I was driving past folsom lake and saw a new master craft towing a wakeboard. Made me think of the old water ski show back when marine world was on redwood city. As a kid I loved when the little boat threaded the needle and went airborne. I am halfway through the video and I can't wait to see it. Btw. This wouldn't fly today with sjw snowflakes. Lol diet pill joke.

Make RWC great again!! Mel’s Bowl, Malibu, Drive Ins, Marine World... all gone and replaced by crappy development. So glad I grew up in that time and era ... poor kids these days don’t even know how bad they have it lmao

I really love this. I grew up as a kid in the Bay area and Marine World Africa USA in Redwood City was so much fun. I remember this show vividly! I might have even been in the stands here .... I'm wondering what the filming of this was for...was this for television? This looks like a professional production just wondering ... as I've been able to find very little information. On Marine World when it was in Redwood City .. I would also love to get my hands-on an original program. Or any kind of a souvenir book or anything like that.
