I had really oily skin as a teenager and I used Benzoyl Peroxide and it would always leave a dry spot that took weeks to go away. Then, the pimple would come right back in that spot. My mom always used Sulfur on her blemishes (in powder form) and mixed it with Vaseline. I still get acne in my 40s. Retinol helps, but I think I need to add back in a physical exfoliant as I'm still getting acne on my chin. I've been following some of your tips, but my skin is so sensitive it's a challenge to avoid an eczema breakout when treating an acne breakout. My skin looks better than it ever has, though.
@thelaundress11

Derms will strongly advise you against a physical exfoliation especially for sensitive skin. It’ll just cause more inflammation and micro-tears in the skin, worse if you have acne flare-ups and open blemishes. Go for a chemical exfoliation like glycolic acid or some other AHA/PHA.

I've tried it several times and it's simply inferior to my other salicylic acid spot treatments. The alcohol drying out the pimple actually makes its appearance more obvious for longer. I've never understood the hype for this product

This does nothing for me sadly. If there are any others reviewing the comments that haven't had luck with this or similar products, I personally have had great results with skin 1004 centella ampoule. reduces "juiciness" and redness and (for me at least) stops it from becoming a worse blemish and seems to speed up the disappearing of it without any drying. if anything the opposite considering it's ingredients. Though it says 100% Centella though... it is not. But the other ingredients are few and helpful to healing even broken blemishes in case you are a picker like I can be. It is the ONLY thing I have ever found. I have tried every spot treatment I could get my hands on.

(disclaimer i am not a doctor but i used to work for a law firm handling the talc lawsuits) the contaminated talc risk is breathing it in. this is wet when applied and then dries hard on the skin. if you dont pick it off with your fingernail and make dust and just wipe it with a damp cloth you should be fine. i think youd be fine regardless this is just if you want to be super safe
