Season's Greetings from Dead Tenors' Society!
During Christmas week, Dead Tenors' Society will be featuring recordings of Holiday favorites and sacred music sung by the great tenors of the past. No matter which of the many holidays you are celebrating this time of year, have a festive and joyous season and best wishes for the coming year!
In this recording, Mario del Monaco (1915-1982) gives a powerful performance of “Domine Deus” from Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle. This recording was made in 1966 for the Decca label at Victoria Hall, Geneva, with Brian Runnett (1935-1970) at the organ.
