I love that: "Why don't you have a proper family?" "Because your nine." "...Fair enough."

The idea of an exhausting swimming pool of death was more amusing than this movie.

The main reason why I hated Gamer (other than that it was a terrible movie) was the expectation by my friends and co-workers that I would love it because I play video games. Just because a movie is focused around your hobby doesn't mean you'll love it. The only game-based movie I ever remember liking was Mortal Kombat, but most of that love stemmed from the fact that I was ten when that came out and anything that revolved around games was awesome.

@cmw443 What do "references" have to do with whether or not a film was good or not? I enjoy films and I enjoy games; this happens to be a film that was fundamentally flawed on every level that makes a film a "good" film.

This is one of those movies that I've managed to enjoy greatly over the years through descriptions alone but hope to never watch as long as I live. "Gerard Butler, right.. he's in this sort of computer game... but it's the real world..." Sounds terrible, please do go on...

Michael C. Hall is excellent in Gamer. That's what I remember of it. Interesting that Kermode likes what he calls "homoerotic" in the Transporter movies and is concerned there is too much T'N'A (female erotica) on MTV. The guy likes "Cruisin' as one of his favourite films, and bashes action adventure. Maybe I don't want to know anymore about Kermode.

Well first of all i think he only likes cruisin because it's a Friedkin film, but there is a difference. In Cruisin it's the actual topic of the film, while in action movies it's insinuatet. Why do you think Staham always take his shirt off? Cause it's itchy?

The film’s has great effects, however the film’s poorly acted, poorly directed, poorly written & unoriginal sci-fi actioner. (24%) (1/5 stars) (negative)
