It was our top pick of the week! Mark is killing it right now and putting on a Master Class for comic creators.

Kindle wants you to pass the pages like a book for some stupid reason. Pirates understand that you want to read comics in your computer like you read everything else by scrolling down.

Mark Millar and Geoff Johns are among the few creators in the mainstream I'd support no questions asked.

I hope for the best for Mark, he's someone that genuinely likes the craft, but I wouldn't mind a King of Spies movie after John Wick 4, I feel he'd be able to make it work with the right director.

Absolutely, King of spies would make an excellent movie

I don't know where the anti-magic stuff came from, but I'm all on board with it. Stuff ruins stories. And it's everywhere.

“He doesn’t have to do this.” If it’s the bee in his creative bonnet there’s probably no way that he *can’t* do this.

What you said about how it is usually portrayed in media reminds me about how scenes in Mexico are always yellow in Breaking Bad

Funny, what you said about vampires being magic. I've been arguing that Superman is magic. How else can his eyes be laser beams, telescopic, and see through things? How can he fly, levitate, and float in place? How can his breath be ice cold, vacuum, and/or hurricane force?

He really is, pseudoscientific explanations of his powers notwithstanding. And you could argue (some people have) that magic and science have a common origin in the desire to manipulate the world through the application of intensive knowledge

The Mexico filter is to give the feeling of a dusty desert town being hit by a sandstorm. Amazingly Biejing does look lole that all the time.

Knife-Hand cover looks great. It's a bit jarring at first, but once you focus on the deep blacks you can see the shapes more clearly. The image is inspired by Metal Gear (Rex)/Cyborg Ninja. Also, this art style is 100% why I bought the book. Keep on, keeping on!

A Mark Millar book rarely disappoints. Would kill to see him on a black label maxi series.

The thing that made me most curious was to see what a book that took three years to draw would actually look like. The only thing will be more interesting will be Travis' issue which took four years and how they'll contrast with Matteo Scalera's issue which probably took like a week. Now I want to know how long Olivier Coipel's took. :)

Well, someone has gotta be the young whippersnapper and the elder statesman at the same time, given the average age of a comic professional is like 50. Compare that to the average Mangaka, who is probably around their 20-30s or 20s-40s I'd wager.

Joe Mad is making games now. His upcoming game, Wayfinder, is getting decent beta reviews, and man, can you ever see Joe's style in the art for it. I'm still a bit salty about Battle Chasers and Gen 13, though. :P

Hey Zack, you might hate magic, but I recommend you look into Hunter X Hunters Nen system. It's the closest thing to a formally specified system of systems, where elite talents can basically design their own abilities based on making consistent rules that appeal to their own subconscious personality traits. So the fights and miracles have a psychological game theory behind them. It's fun stuff.

If Vampires are magic, then 99% of Super-heroes are magic too (except Batman and the Punisher). The Hulk, Thor, The F4, all of the X-Men, etc.

The vending machine looks a little too modern to be from the 80's. It does look a little more like an Asian design, maybe the Koreans from the car factories brought those with them.
