September 7 marks 30 years since the tragic incident in which 28 protestors and one Ciskei Defence Force soldier died, in what became known as the Bhisho Massacre. More than 200 people were wounded when an estimated 80 000 people marched to Bhisho demanding democratic reform in the former homeland. The Eastern Cape government will commemorate the day by laying wreaths at the burial site as well as the memorial sites. For more, we are now joined by Nonceba Kontsiwe, the MEC responsible for Sport, Recreation, Arts & Culture in the Easter Cape
