It can go a lot slower and has a slower start and brake power. Built by Regner,so remember that it has a weird gas system. You can buy a Ronson converter, otherwise you need to eleviate pressure from the tank. Fill with some gas, then push the valve to let some gas come out till it’s fluid. Fill up some more and repeat three or four times. Then gastank is filled completely. It will give you 15 to 20 minutes running time. Nice little loco.

Thank you very much for your comments. I'm aware that The pressure needs to be elevated. I'm thinking of replacing The Regner gas fill valve by a quick coupling from Herrmann Echtdampf. But that would mean that the tank needs to be adapted. Advantage will be that the gas can be refilled any time so that the Loco can keeps on running. Gas system is indeed a bit weird. To improve it I replaced the thin gas line from the tank to the burner by a 3 mm line. This prevents that the burner started to "oscillate" when the throttle valve is opened. Flame is much stable now. Other improvement what I'm thinking about is to replace the Marklin Maxi chassis by a more conventional like the other Regner Locos have. The thing is that this loco is a basically Marklin Maxi loco with Regner parts to make it a live steam Loco. If you check out the cylinder mouthing bracket, its very thin and bends quite quickly. This Loco Became with an instruction video on VHS. On the Video you already see that this bit is wobbly and most probably that the screws are loose. You might ask yourself the question "why de hell did Marklin use this particular loco for the video" But that's with more decisions what has been made in the Marklin Live steam department. By changing the chassis the ride will be more stable. The only problem that i currently have with these projects is.... time..... to busy with other things......

Will this go on r1 curves?

Hallo Stoom liefhebber. Groeten Math
