Great video! By the way, my wife & I love guessing what your sign off comment is going to be at the end of each video, based on what you’ve been tasting. We did NOT guess See ya later Marmalader! So far we’ve got none right, but it’s getting quite competitive! 😁😅😁😀😂

Great review and undoubtedly the correct choice! I've tried a lot of marmalades and always come back to Frank Cooper's or Tiptree with malt whisky!

It's also Frank Coopers for me, especially the muscovado variety, which I don't think that they make anymore. Also, another claim to fame, it was served on the Titanic.

Great choice! And fascinating information about the Titanic. It was also taken on another fateful voyage; Scott’s expedition to the South Pole! An unlucky Marmalade then perhaps?? but really interesting stuff and thanks for sharing. Have a great evening. 👍😊

I prefer thick cut so use a locally produced marmalade. Duerr's Thick Cut Seville Orange Marmalade 340g @ £1.50 If my prefered choice was ever out of stock though after your review I'd defo give the Frank Cooper's a try 👍

Will look out for that one, thanks for sharing and would definitely recommend giving Frank Coopers a try. I also like a nice thick cut too, but funnily enough we found that the fine shred Frank Coopers was distinctly superior in flavour to the original variety. Have a lovely day 👍😁

Slight 'warning' for those buying the Bonne Maman: they have two sorts, "Orange Marmalade" and "Bitter Orange". It's easy to mix them up. The one labeled "Orange Marmalade" (rather than the "Bitter Orange" labeled one in the clip) is a sweet marmalade. It's not *as* sweet as most American sweet marmalades, but it won't be bitter-forward like a classic, British style marmalade.

You are quite right! Many brands of Marmalade produce multiple versions and they can be quite different from each other, which makes finding a favourite even more interesting and dynamic. Its easy to get caught out though and it’s always worth doing a double take at the label just in case! Thanks for sharing and have a lovely day 👍😊

Are marmalade just jelly or does it have to be orange or any citrus fruit ? And does to have orange pices in it? I have seen and had homemade orange jelly. Well honestly most of the jelly I have eaten have been homemade. And a large % from wild fruit blackberry, and fl. Wild grapes for the most. I like orange. And we have a old southern cake a 13 layer jelly cake. Really thin cakes really a cake batter, cake size pancake. You soft the jelly and use it in place of icing. A marmalade jelly cake sounds good.

A marmalade jelly cake does sound good! I am aware that the Southern states do love their layer cakes 😋 I had a ten layer chocolate layer cake when I was in Florida a few years back. (And I got to go in a swamp air boat. Great fun!) Marmalade is made with citrus fruit and usually has a higher amount of water than jelly or jam and is often cooked longer to give a slightly caramelised flavour. It normally contains the peel but doesn’t absolutely have to. I suspect if you’ve had orange jelly it’s much the same as marmalade. All lovely stuff. Thanks for sharing. 👍😁

Thanks for sharing. It’s always great to hear different people’s preferences. I agree that Quince marmalade is certainly well worth trying, as is lime and also grapefruit. A classic traditional punchy orange seems to remain the global go to choice but it’s great to discover your own favourites. Have a great weekend 👍😊

Yep, there’s certainly many many more brands out there but as we only pick 6 per episode we try and pick the brands that are stocked in as many countries as possible. Thanks for sharing and have a lovely day 👍😊

Why do you guys like the taste of bitterness, i have some Bonne Maman, its good but the bitterness i can't

I think a lot of people like the combination of sweet and bitter together. Much like an orange itself, the sweet juicy flesh is extra refreshing when paired with with bitter notes coming through from the peel. Not for everyone though and thanks so much for sharing! 👍😊
