We arrived in Marmaris hoping we could get our rigging repairs done quickly and professionally. We ended up having to wait a few days for the availability of the riggers, which gave us a great opportunity to have a look around.
We probably enjoyed the food scene more than anything else in this 'party-town'. We enjoyed eating at a variety of local eateries and getting stuck into delicious Turkish cuisine. It is a party town though, and the anchorage is dominated by regular movements of loud party boats. The waterfront is lively and yes, we got our repairs done... eventually!

Al, from New Zealand and Kel from Australia met through work in 2010 and have been together ever since. Always infected by the travel bug they finally decided to head off on an adventure and started with Vietnam and Laos before heading to Sri Lanka, India, then Cambodia and Indonesia. Their mission is to explore as many off the beaten track places as possible through a slow travel philosophy on a tight budget.
UPDATE!!! After a few years of saving (thanks Covid) they finally did it. They now own DAKINI, a gorgeous Lagoon 421, and are (re) learning to sail while exploring the Mediterranean.
