Maranitos!!! 😭 You've brought back so many memories when I use to work at my Dad's panaderia. My dad was from Mexico, so all ingredients came from a small book that held ingredients of all his creations. Our work ethic was always on point! Which I loved!💗 Your recipe is almost the same. My job was placing each cut-out maranito on the pans, and brushing the egg on top of each. There was always a routine for each type of pan Mexicano created by my dad. I have one of his maranito-shape cutter he used. Each mold used to cut were made personally by my dad. Just letting you know watching this video brought my mom, and I, to tears. 😭 Thank you for sharing you art of cooking and baking. We are always watching.💗💗💗💗💗

My boyfriend loved them, and my mother said they tasted just like the panderia!! 😁😁 I followed the recipe except.... I used almond milk, no anise, and 2 tablespoons of vanilla extract. I did have to add a couple more tablespoons of flour after it was fully mixed.

I was so excited to try this recipe and thanks to your links I could finally buy my marinto cutter. But mine came out dry. I'm a semi experienced baker so I definitely need to tweak to make them just a touch softer. Flavor was spot on! I used anise extract instead of ground. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe. It's going into my recipe folder! Oh and if you have any suggestions to make them a little softer I'm all ears lol.

I love that you use every bit of your ingredients... it drivers me "stir crazy" when cooks measure out or mention the approx amount, yet leave some or most in the bowl, measuring cups, spoons ect... why bother with the measurements... just record how much is acceptable to waste... instead.
