Very. Do you have a video showing that the bias actually does not drift?

I did this mod to a friends 1999 DSL100 amp. one side started running away, so I'm not sure why this continue s to happen. I am positive I did it correctly

Nice job , looks like a factory install, I have a 2005 I don't know if it's infected with this problem, I got a 2005 specifically because I read the problem was eradicated in 2004 models , , how can I aggravate this problem and bring it to the surface the amp is working okay, but if I feel there is an underlying problem , Id like to bring it to the surface so I know for sure, ,, what kind of voltage increases should I look for that would make it abnormal ??, does this drift happen at idle or does it happen under load heavy load not sure, this is the first for me ,in other words , is there a foolproof test I could perform to know if the amp is suffering from this? , thanks ,,,,,,Mike

thank you for this video I have one of these amplifiers . Do you know which year amps or circuitboard numbers are affected by this? I’m not having any problems at all right now with my amplifier

I have an original JCM 2000 TSL 100 that doesn't have too many hours on it and has no signs of damage yet. Its a revision 5 board. Would you recommend making these corrections ASAP even if no sign of bias drift yet?

I have a 2002 DSL 50 that appears to be doing the same thing. Should be a little easier with only 2 tubes? Also, which electrolytic caps did you change out. My amp is 22 years old, probably wouldn't hurt to change out mine as well..... Thanks!

Awesome video I wish I had seen this sooner I recently installed a third party mod (Dr. Tube stable bias) and it didn’t seem to work. Im wondering if I make those cuts in the board if I’d have any luck… The mod had me remove two small caps near the bias pots, could I put those back on and try your method?

Yes, replace those caps, and carefully follow this video. I have used the Dr Tube mod with success, but I did not care for it. Make sure with the power tubes removed you have negative bias voltage on pin 5 of all of the power tubes and that the voltage responds to the bias pot.

@@proampsolutions right I will give this method a shot. So I’ll replace those caps and remove the Dr. Tube kit completely I will circle back and let you know how it goes! Thank you!

Thanks again! My bias seems stable now! Amazing However, my green channel seems to be out of order, red channel sounds amazing. I need to double check all my work. Any suggestions?

@@john_toxic_6796 Yes, double check your work, if your bias is stable and your red channel is working, I doubt the problem has anything to do with your bias rework. Check the junction of the channel joining resistors and work your way backwards through the signal path.

I just swap them for Issue 22 boards. Ends up costing the customer less in the long run.
