For some reason, after learning great deal from all your videos, I don't see you very inspired by the JTM, I can see it in your eyes. What I do know, is that when you fire up the Marshall 1987X 50-watt Plexi your eyes light up, you forget your videotaping, you become more inspired, and you inspire me, and others. I want a Marshall 1987X 50-watt Plexi... ;)

@@EugeValovirta230V I have a JTM45 build ordered to arrive in a month. Pretty excited but I gotta' say, the more I have been researching the Plexi/JTM sound the more interested I have become in the 1959 Plexi. I just assumed that because the JTM was a spec copy of the Bassman that it would be top of the heap but I wasn't really considering how the bass frequency on the late 60's early 70's Super Leads is much tighter and punchier due to the SS rectifier. A tube rectifier just sounded soooo great to me (the more valves the better) but I wasn't thinking about why Jim Marshall changed it to SS. Too late the JTM is already ordered, but I feel like the Plexi SLP is probably more of what I am seeking as I just love 70's AC/DC, Zep, and of course Free and that's kind of where I want my tone to sit. Oh well at least it's a spec Marshall. If I like it they do have a 1959 spec amp as well and it's affordable. I really like your music BTW, you seem to have a real natural touch.

Yay! I like mine with bass off and mids all the way, I also Fender-ized it even further by replacing the first 12AX7 with AY7 - all it really does is give more control over volume before break up, with AX7 it got crunchy around 4, with AY around 6-7, tone is the same. And yeah, set it to break up then use drives and fuzzes to get different flavours of higher gain, so much great stuff!

Workaround is to get a fryette power station attenuator connected (trust me, you'll want these old marshalls attenuated if you're jamming at home!) so that you could use the effects loop on the attenuator. Some amp switching units even allow the attenuator (and therefore the effects in effects loop) to switch with the amp.

This video is awesome! Thank you! I have a clone of a JTM45 by DeLisle Amps and it's easily the best sounding amp I've ever played. I love how saggy the bass gets when it's pushed. The jtm45 is my go-to pedal platform amp, just set the hi vol to 3 and go-to town, brings out the best in any preamp pedals. You should try an interesting experiment....you can buy a solid state rectifier that replaces the gz34 tube...it's a diode bridge rectifier built into a tube socket, just plug it into where the the rectifier tube is. Tube Amp Doctor makes them...they are like $25. Would be cool to hear that jtm tube rectified then SS rectified. 👍🤘

Thanks! Quite close but the tube rectifier in JTM makes it a bit smoother IMO.

You SHOULD go on for hours. If you did live videos when you just jam, I’d watch it. I’d tell my bro about it too.

So versatile! I love the high gain tone from the Blues Driver. What is that green pedal after it?

Yeah! Me too 👌😎. It’s JHS Bonsai set to TS-808 mode and it’s before the BD so it’s boosting the BD 😊.

Great demo and great playing 🤘🏼🤘🏼 I am trying to decide between this and the Studio Vintage 20W. Which one would you recommend? I know both are good pedal platforms which is important to me… Thanks and happy I discovered your Channel!

Thanks! The studio is more like 1987x or SLP but just lower power. This is a bit smoother with a tube rectifier etc. Just as a clean pedal platform amp I’d choose this.

If you could only pick 2 amps between 1959HW, 1987X, JTM45 and JCM800, which 2 would you pick and why? :D

I’ve already done that 😎: JCM800 & 1987x. Well I actually have three 800s 😁. I like them the most 👌.

Hi!! You play awesome!! Love all your vids!! I have an JTM 45 and Reactive:Ir st. Rock too, but im not shure if i connect right… how i have to put the impedance switch on the amp? 8 or 16 ohms?
@EugeValovirta230V
10 ай бұрын
Never send more impedances from amp to a cab / reactive load than what it is designed to get ’cos if you do so you’ll probably blow up the amp and the cab / load. Less is ok; the volume is just a bit quieter then.

F**k! in the first use i have 16Ohms on the amp and the react:ir runs with 8 Ohms. How do I know if it might be broken? thanks for all your wisdom!!

@@EugeValovirta230V have you tried to compare this with the BluGuitar Amp1 Mercury edition vintage channel? I have that amp and it sounds almost the same....

I have only the Iridium but it’s really close too. I mean I haven’t considered buying any amps after I got the Amp 1 ’cos I can get all the tones I need from that 👌.

A great and highly anticipated (by me) review of the JTM45 and comparison to the 1987x. A very different style of playing for you! No doubt inspired by the JTM. 2 very different flavors of Marshall tone. The JTM has more sag and more sweetness to the tone and the 1987x is more aggressive with a more immediate attack due to the tube vs. solid state rectifier. Both have a vintage tone, but the JTM is "older vintage". It seems like you were quite taken with it! Are you going to keep it?

Hi how can I enjoy the Marshall JTM45 At home I am at a crossroads whether to sell it and buy a small amplifier or is there a possibility to save our friendship and keep it thanks

It’s really easy: with an attenuator or reactive load. St.Rock React:IR is the best I’ve tried: kzitem.info/news/bejne/mKl8r59_cJF1fmk
