She went on to be the keyboard player in The Associates, check out the video for Party Fears 2. She also did backing vocals for Roxy Music and Robert Palmer. Later she followed an academic career and is a dean/professor at a university

Loved this song, there's a Beachside Cafe in Bali, Indonesia called "Echo Beach" - the tagline 'Far Away in Time' - it can't be a coincidence!

Not surprised at all. This song was a huge hit in Australia (when visiting there in 1991-92, more than one person, on hearing I was Canadian, mentioned this band as one of the things they knew about Canada). And Bali is crawling with Aussies. On the darker side, I hear that this isn't the only Canadian export that made it to Bali via Australia; I'm told that the Rock Machine were established there for a while.

I live a couple hours from Toronto and everytime I go to Toronto for a metal show i always have a walk on Echo beach just for this song. I'm more of a country boy but being from Vancouver British Columbia but since I've lived in Ontario most of my life. This song always makes me feel like I'm more in touch with Toronto.

This is how brilliant this song is ..not only is it pioneering for Nu Wave and Canadian....... also a brilliant video but it takes two minutes and 35 seconds for Echo Beach far away in time to even hit your brain..... best songs of all time.... One of the first live shows I ever attended and this brings back a good memory. I also recall a rude boy cursing at the band until someone said something in his ear he then ran out and the show continued.

I'm 61 years old, always loved this, but in 2003 i was in Privilege club in Ibiza, and this came on about 6 00 am over the massive soundsytem and it was very powerful, never forget it❤

Here I am, at my office on a Sunday, madly writing text for a litigation matter. I ALWAYS have musing playing in the background. Fortunately, my KZitem mix is NAILING it! I just heard "Phasors on Stun" by FM, I'm now listening to Echo Beach, and coming up is "Lonesome Mary" by Chiliwack! Three awesome Canadian productions! Takes me right back to my college years! Surely I'll have a couple beers this evening!!

First heard this whilst on a NATO exercise. I was commanding an armoured personal carrier, my driver had a cassette player which he strapped his intercom to and played this record. Never forgot it or the exercise. He introduced me to so much music. Thanks Busby your were only 17 and I was 27.
