The singing is as beautiful as she is. Moreover, this clip, and the two obnoxious women in the audience with the comb and food, could constitute the latest in "Stuff people in the concert hall audience do during a performance." I'd love to know more of the story!

Every diva has her own twist to the piece their singing, I really enjoyed Marta`s version. Other versions by Katherine Grayson and Roberta Peters are really good Voices of Spring is one of my all time favorites and one piece than separates the good from the not so good.

This movie has certainly been shot in early 30's not "a hundred years go"; she was born in 1912. And espiacally at this time music and even dialogs were recorded apart, as the cameras were very noisy… Does any know from which film this moment is taken from? Maybe the two ladies are characters in the plot, reason why we see then so often. Thank you for posting.

I think it's "Das Schloß in Flandern" (The Castle in Flanders), a German movie from 1936.

She was - is - one of the great exponents of operetta - and 100 this year! Still singing in her 90s - a refugee from Nazi Germany - try to hear her singing in English in the Judy Garland film "Presenting Lily Mars." She's gorgeous physically and vocally.

"a refugee from Nazi Germany" -- She was Hungarian, married to a Polish singer Jan Kiepura. They both recorded in Germany, that is all.

Liar!!! She was a Hungarian Jewish (1/2 with a Jewish mother) refugee. She had to flee Europe because her mother was Jewish and her husband Jan Kiepura who was Polish and also half Jewish fled in 1938 after Austria was taken over. She worked in Austrian movies.

in the usa the medium distributers are the ones that release german film classics between 33 45 but there preference for a fast buck is the politcal propaganda over the hollywood side of the third reich but in germany their picky too it's such a shame they hadnt relased a film like this on dvd home video
