Contemporary dance as exhilarating movement spectacles that explore the classic and the inventive - that’s what you can look forward to with this year’s Gala and Community performances from the legendary Martha Graham Dance Company.
This exciting debut performance in Wyoming is part of Graham’s 3-season celebration of their 100th Anniversary, GRAHAM100. “We are proud to be the oldest dance company in the United States, but have discovered that a celebration encompassing 100 years of artistic innovation informed by vast social, political, and technological change needs a broader canvas than one season can provide!” said Janet Eilber, MGDC Artistic Director in a Company press release from 2023. “Three seasons will allow us to curate and organize this unmatched American legacy in ways that highlight not only the Company’s timeline of firsts and its historic impact but perhaps more importantly, its continuing relevance and influence.”
Tickets are on sale now for the Gala on Friday, July 26 and the Community Performance Saturday, July 27, 2024. Get yours today, and join us for this incredible experience!

PROGRAM NOTES
This high-energy work by Hofesh Shechter emerged out of an idea brought to the Graham Company by the international dance star Daniil Simkin. Daniil was interested in taking the dance that is part of the techno club scene to a new level and finding a way to integrate choreographed movement into a Rave style event. As a prelude to this larger idea, Hofesh Shechter was invited to create a dance for the proscenium stage for the Graham dancers. The result is a visceral collective movement experience, with a powerful, swirling shared kinetic energy.
