I agree with you about the soap. I think its better when the skin is good and not suffering in winter conditions. And a good hydrated lather improves things for me.

Nice shave Johan, I think we all ruin a razor or two in the process of learning. I am sure that you'll bounce back knowing where you went wrong. Have a great week. Very best regards Gordon.

Apparently I'm 100 years old. My, does time fly by. I have Martin de Candre Fougère. I love the scent and agree with you that the soap base is not top tier; but in that, we're spoiled for choice these days. The MdC soap base is more than adequate, though, and I'd swear that the soap grows back in the jar each time you use it. Keep up the honing. You'll get better with experience. (Said from the perspective of a 100 year old.) The loupe and sharpness testing are great tools for making progress.

I've heard that meditation is good for the soul.... Motown... I have often wondered whether MDC is overrated considering it's just a Coconut oil soap with no real support ingredients, the recipe looks similar to TFS which is heaps cheaper, also the salt content (which makes it hard) I would expect to dry the skin, that's just looking at the ingredient list, I have not tried MDC myself and I'm unlikely to purchase a tub for those reasons.👍🤠🤟

I think I've heard about those three Motown degrees but as with so much it's a question of scales: Is it Swedish C, French F or Scottish K? For a while there the frustlation level was almost like the Dutch Ekseption (On Sunday They Will Kill the World), yet not as bad as barry McGuire's (Eve of Destruction). So at least you're not ‘spineless’ amonst all theta Swedish Steel. I don't know of many artisan soap makers who could afford or would make the investment to make MdC's triple milled soap. I've only got a small class of MdC's Original - their lavender variant (appreciated, among others by Anthony The Stallion Esposito). After all this staring into space (space, space, space....) you may have to sharpen your skills ;-)

I agree about MDC they're ok but not great.Love the scents more than any other soaps out there but the slickness is average and the residual slickness is almost non existence.Nice shave mate.👍
