That's the hope, if I could try to speak for the folks in Martin's R&D dept.

I can tell Spoon loves these satins. He plays the lines with such exuberance and so tightly in this video. These guitars really sound amazing.

I’ve always loved satin finished guitars. This one looks and sounds fantastic. I just bought a 2022 D18 Standard a couple of weeks ago that is just magic. I bought two custom Martin 18 style sinkers two years ago and really the point I wanted to make is that the level of quality guitars that Martin is putting out in the last recent years is just phenomenal. I think that the satin finish D18 sounds wonderful, it’s less expensive than the gloss finished standard, and I feel like my satin finished guitars opened up a little faster.

Nice review, but there should be a correction here. Spoon says it's mother of pearl. It's not. It's Abalone inlays.

@@MaurysMusic I just wanted to make sure that someone didn't buy a guitar from you with the impression that it had the wrong inlays. It would be unfair to both parties.

FYI - I said "2-1/8" string spacing" at the 12th fret. I should have said "2-1/8" fingerboard width.

hey i just watched this video and the d28 satin video. I love your playing. However I think you need a better mic. All these guitars including the gloss sound tinny. They really don't sound like a Martin. no warmth and no growl.

Sorry you feel this way. Can you name another video on TY who's tones you do like? I'd be curious to compare.

@@MaurysMusic first and foremost I meant no malice. It could be me. I do like Ian Meadows on you tube. I really want to like this guitar, as I am currently in the market for a D18.
