I actually made my first deck with Iceman without the help of MCDB...mainly because most people have the X-Men cards that go well with, you know, X-Men heroes lol. I didn't get behind the mutant phase of Champions, so I had to improvise. It actually won the first game against Absorbing Man. I was able to attack to attach the Frostbite, exhaust to draw and was pretty lucky to keep drawing ice cards to ready. Then, on AM's turn, I defended, and readied. This continued until he was put down by back to back Artic Attacks. Being impressed with my deck building skills, I was confident that I could do it again. The second game...I got wrecked. Sure, I was able to get the Ice Belt in my opening hand....but I was dead drawing. I did what I could, actually got to flip to AB's second stage...which backfired. Soon after he flipped, I got Shadow-ed. Learned the hard way that Pyro is actually pretty tough. I had the Avalanche side scheme out, and Pyro's side scheme also had +1 encounter card. This one turn, I got three encounter cards.....yeah, I got smoked. The third game was a little better, but again, I lost. Even though I lost pretty badly, I was still having a blast. It's pretty hilarious to have stacks of Frostbites on the villain and watch them hitting for no damage or not putting threat on the scheme lol. It would be interesting to see how he fares in Aggression, because that's my favorite aspect. When in doubt, rush the villain lol. But to be honest, he feels right in Protection.

@@alexbiersner3350 thanks for your write up, that sounds awesome! I also love that you didn’t use mcdb, the game is at its most fun when experimenting I think. I never really liked playing aggression, but they’ve added a lot more cards that fit my play style, but i totally agree that i still think iceman fits best in protection.

Good game. I like heroes that have cards that interact and play off each other card. When the deck was empty, I’m pretty sure you would have to reshuffle and then resolve that Surge. The only time you don’t is if your discarding cards. Don’t forget that when you resolve Frozen Solid you put a Frostbite on the enemy. You missed a couple of times. Considering this is your 1st Iceman play and only 2nd Dark Beast, adding your fatigue, the play through was really good. Lot of moving parts to Iceman and the scenario.

Hey thanks so much for all that explanation, I really appreciate it. Yeah you’re totally right about the empty deck. It’s not something that happens to me often, and getting it back to back with the surge was just pure cognitive overload haha. Someone had mentioned that the surge only triggers if I was in AE so it technically played out the same. I wanna look at the cards over so I make sure that doesn’t happen again. Also, thanks for the frostbite tip. Really good to keep in mind cause I REALLY wanna play iceman again soon

Good game. I also thought he would be good in Protection when I first opened him. If you have multiple encounter cards during the villain phase, you are technically only supposed to reveal and resolve them one at a time. So around 40:12 when the deck ran out, you should have reshuffled the empty encounter deck before moving on to the Sinister Strike. BUT you were in hero form and Sinister Strike only surges if you are in Alter-Ego. So the outcome was the same, just not for the reason you stated. 😃

Thanks! Yeah I can’t wait to mess around with him in prot! Also, thank you so much for that explanation. That’s something I SHOULD have realized. It’s like, such a basic rule. I think I’ve just been so burnt out that my brain was completely dead. I do feel better knowing I (luckily) played it right. Haha. Thanks!!!!

I get burnt out with my work schedule too sometimes, so I hear you. Sometimes I have to pause a game halfway through and come back to it a few hours later if my mind is wandering too much. I have a coin that has the SHIELD logo on one side and the Hydra logo on the reverse. I put it SHIELD side up if I need to start back up with the heroes and Hydra side up if it’s the villain phase. 😅

@@rainking4242 omg that’s so smart. I really like that idea! I’ve got a bunch of videos queued, cause I always want to have something to post, but this week was brutal. I really wanted to get these two videos out, and for the first time ever it felt like work haha. I really like your idea though thanks!

So if you are playing two players and one is using iceman, does the frostbite last until all the attacks that the villain does to each player? Or is frostbite discarded after the first attack?

What an amazing question that I had no even considered. I was doing my actual job work, saw your question, and immediately stopped because I needed to know too lol So, the wording is "Forced Response: After attached enemy activates or leaves play, set this card aside". The villain activates against each player. So, once they attack/scheme against one player, they will activate another player. So, yes after each full activation (atk/sch) it will come off. So, it only helps the first player the villain activates against. FANTASTIC QUESTION!!!!!!

@@marvelchampionsxp WoW! That makes him so good for solo, but not so much for two players... Have to make a specific multiplayer deck then
