I get true friendship vibes. Like, he loved her like a sister/friend in real life, but they have to put on an act. Those that have truly been in love feel and know the difference between loving someone and being IN love with someone. They're barely gazing in each other's eyes. So what about their body chemistry screams being IN love other than the act of selling the song? There is no sexual energy. I guess they did their job and sold some people 🤷🏽♀️. That's what they were supposed to do. Truth is, this man was married and contrary to some beliefs, in spite of their problems, loved his wife, Anna.
@monilaninetynine3811

They weren't each other's type. Marvin was a very, very honest person. If Tammi was his woman, he would have told us. The reason they were so close is because there were no romantic pressures. The fact that so many folks are convinced that they were more than good friends proves that they really sold it and y'all bought it.

She has been gone 50 years now. 50 years today. Hard to believe. She and Marvin were such a team. I do believe that he was in love with her, but didn't want to admit it. I think she loved him, but was not in love with him Perhaps that would have come in time if she had lived longer. Who knows. I do know that I have heard many artists do this song, but no one, no one can touch them. Tammi and you Marvin were magic!

I think he was in love with her, too. He was married to the boss' sister, though.

Twin flame 🔥🔥🔥🔥 love 💕 he was never the same after she died! That's what made their chemistry so powerful and it became evident in the song. She went through trauma and he went through trauma but somehow they found a home, a safe place with one another.

Its a real tragedy what happened with Tammi Terrell not only because she died very young because of a terrible illness and when she was in her moment but also Marvin Gaye lost himself and never was the same person. In somehow he lost his shelter and maybe the only person who was comfortable with.

There will never be another Marvin and Tammi!! They epitomized the words class, elegance, professionalism and love. When they were singing, they were truly singing to and abut each other. They had a special kind of love in which real friendships are made of. R.I.H. my favorite Motown artists!!!

I never comment but I had an opportunity to play tammie Terrell in the James brown movie so I started researching her, came across this video of course. At exactly 1:30. The look in her eyes until about 1:46, is pure love and infatuation! They were In love but it was the circumstances that kept them Apart. She needs more stories on her

They bought out the best performances in each other. When they were in the studio,on stage or on a television show they knew that they had to bring it , They were at the top of their game Tammi was not going to let Marvin out sing her and we all know Marvin was not going to let Tammi out sing him . Probably the best Man and Woman duet of all time. They put so much joy into their singing constantly challenging each other and laughing because they both had such God given beautiful voices.
