Very iconic. I used to use a plastic pellet gun to shoot at the soldiers and indians to decide the battles. My mom gave this and others away to my young nephew when I was in College. She didn't ask me of course. I had other marx sets too and stacked up hundreds of hours playing with my cavalry soldiers and indians.

I loved mine when I was a kid, it was my favorite toy for a while, my older brother made a wooden landscape extension to add on one side of the fort that had trees and rocks, etc. I just recently purchased a set in almost new condition though the buildings in the fort are different than the ones I had, mine were the plastic ones that looked more like the ones in the case graphics though after all my online searches it seems those didn't hold up as well as the buildings you have in yours, the plastic seems to deteriorate, shrink, crumple up and break. Later on I progressed to the bigger Johnny West figures who had their own Fort Apache. The whizzer tops!!!! completely forgot about those. .

Thanks for watching! Great comment. I love reading others memories of our childhoods. I'm really happy that you enjoyed the video. And are also doing the same sort of thing as me. Resurfacing old memories and replacing old toys.

I so wanted this fort (or any fort for that matter) but I never had my wish come true. I did have a very nice collection of cowboys & Indians and I still have many of them after 65 years or so and many, many moves. Great collection, man!

Thats an interesting collection. I love those classic cars. Im so jealous. The fort Apache seems is made of tin ready to go. I used to have a few each different kinds of figures in Timpo . I was never lucky to have any forts. I do like the plastic actual fort I've seen that comes in sections and fits together than the one im seeing in this video. It must have cost a fortune i take it.Great collection.👍🇭🇲🦘🐨✌️

I had this set and a vinyl covered carry all called fort Cheyenne. It opened up with an indian village across a stream. The figures we not as good and a bit smaller than the Marx figures. About the towers, I solved that by not putting them together. It also made playing with them easier.

Those figures were pretty bad, but it made a good fort in a pinch to battle against your brother. I had Apache, and he had Cheyenne.

@@raymccarty4612 i had the same fort cheyenne set i bought in the 70s but the cavalry riders were grey and the foot soldiers were blut the mounted native warriors had swivel bodies. i believe the troops were 40 mm made by ideal toy company.

@@miketaylor5212 They were indeed grey riders and blue foot just as you described them..Years later I was into lead casting and the figures were reproduced for that hobby as well.

Nice video. Fort Apache in it's various versions was always my favorite toy growing up in the sixties. I remember my cousin bringing his over to my house and we'd set each of ours up and wage war!!! We always hoped for rain on a Saturday so we could stay in and play with our toy soldiers. About 10 years ago I started collecting and painting this type of toy soldier. My count is in the thousands now. Whenever I see toys "mint in box", I can't help but wonder who purchased toys back then and saved them knowing how valuable they'd become? Not me.....I ripped them open and played with them! Great video. Brings back memories. One question for you Meyer. Are those magazines or records on the shelves behind your collectables? Whatever they are, you seem to have quite a lot of them!!!

Thanks for watching, I'm glad that you enjoyed the video! Eventually I will make another Fort Apache video here soon, and set up some figures and take a closer look at them. Those are comic books on the shelves that you see in the background. Lots of comics in plastic bags. Thanks again for watching, have a great day!

Meyer Greenblatt, I have the same set, with several figurines and the case still has the doors. I'd like to find a new home for it. Interested?
