Continuing with the women of the West Computers, we move on to Aerospace engineer Mary Jackson. She would join Dorothy Vaughn and Katherine Johnson at NACA in 1951. However, Mary's career would take a different path, and she later left West Computers. Jackson went on to complete training to become the first black female engineer at NASA in 1958 while authoring and co-authoring 12 technical papers. Despite all that Mary had achieved in her career, she was denied management-level positions. She left engineering in 1979 and took a demotion to become manager of the women's program at NASA. Not wanting to see other women face the same problems, she would serve as an administrator in the Equal Opportunity Specialist field. She worked to make changes and highlight women and other minorities who were accomplished in the area. Discover more in today's video, which is about life now…Enjoy
