Mary is a miracle. Her story is one of true transition. Once a tart on a stool, she cleaned up to let her gift shine.

This woman is so interesting and very relatable for me. I too had a dysfunctional family, got involved with drugs, both taking and selling. She is very inspirational and fun. I don't normally listen to anything for this long. But I had to listen to everything she says. Great interview!

1hr:35m ... 4yr since discovering childhood trauma + many inner voyaging efforts it is as painful. Working through it with memoir writing. Good to hear Mary speak of self-care.

I’m such a fan of Mary, and I’ve really enjoyed her books, but I’d never listened to an interview with her. What a huge treat. This was inspiring and absolutely hilarious. Thanks Mary and Tim.

God listening to this is like sitting with my grandma listening to all her tales. You can't make up those crazy southern stories. Shit happens that is crazier than any work of fiction. My grandma would say things like "He's the biggest lying-est son of a bitch that ever shit over two hills!" We've got this generational pain in southern culture that gets passed on family to family. All we can try and do is be a little better than the last batch.

Tim, your podcast about sexual abuse was direly needed. As soon as I saw the thumbnail I knew it was connected to Aya bc the same exact thing happened to me. I had scoured the internet for months looking for information and my radar went off before you even told your story. Thank you, thank you, thank you for letting me (and surely others, was hoping to find them in the comments, but those were turned off) know I'm not alone. One of the more challenging parts of this process has been trying to integrate trauma I can only remember on the medicine. And MARY KARR, from one Texan to another, thanks framing idiom as the precious art form it is. I will no longer dilute my idioms so Californians understand!

Love Mary Karr. Grateful for her and her work. Sorry, do not understand guns. ... Canadian yogi more interested in breath and peacefare. Thanks for this, Tim - and your other interviews, and your book, “4- hour work week” which I saw laying on a exterior window sill in Paris earlier this year. Apparently someone wanted to share... 🙏🏽👌🏼

This women thinks she is a Catholic. She came into the Catholic Church not believing Catholic doctrine. She thinks psychoanalysis is a good thing and not the mind voodoo that it is.
